• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking of T-valves and FOBO ??

I've been thinking about it and found these two sites below.
First link is for a company who makes the valves, in Canada (Chilliwack, BC) called Hawkshead.
Second link is for Cyclemax, who sell essentially the same product.
I think Wingstuff also sell the Hawkshead valve.

The interesting thing is that I called Hawkshead yesterday on their tech info as they advertised as "not suitable for large FOBO sensors", and was passed to their product research guy.

Per Mr Product Research -- motorcycle FOBO sensors measure nearly 1" across and are considered too heavy for their T-valve product. He cited possible metal fatigue and failure at the joint fitting. Their own TPMS sensors are approx 1/3" across and lighter in weight.

Sooooo -- I called Cyclemax
They've sold many T-valves, the sole purpose being for use with a TPMS.
They've had no complaints or returns yet but state that they are not aware of the type of TPMS being installed on their valves.

Any thoughts ??
Any failures from those who've installed T-valves and paired them with FOBO sensors.

I have only recently installed FOBO sensors and their T-valves on my Spyder. I did install the sensors on the upward portion of the T to keep the forces down. I left the valve at a 90 degree as the air fitting. So far I have not had any issues with leakage or the valves failing. However, I have not put a ton of miles on the bike since I installed them; maybe 500-600 hundred miles is all. I do like the monitoring system as it will warn you if your tires go over or under pressure. You can also quickly tell if your front tires are a few pounds off from each other. From my limited use, I would recommend FOBO and the T-valves they sell.
 
Seems like quite a fuss and for what? Not having to remove the FOBO to air up? Maybe I'm missing something here but I haven't had to add air to mine since the FOBO were installed (a year ago!). :dontknow:

Kind of a related question, will the FOBO fit on my Spyder without changing valve stem ? If YES , why would you change to different tees ?

Yes, they will. I have a 2013 RT-S and have had no problems. I see no need for T valves on the front, as removing the sensor to add or release air I really no big deal. On the rear it's difficult to get an air chuck on the standard valve and I may have a right angle stem installed on my next tire change.

Yes they do, and I already have the FOBO on the rubber stems.
I did want metal stems though and thought I'd go with T-valve stems instead of the normal straight , 45 or 90 degree ones.
