• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking hard about getting back into the spyder fun

I have almost talked myself into getting another Spyder since the Rt now is 6 speed and 1330 power plant. Talk to dealer today and he still has a 14 s at what sounds like a good price $22400 plus ttl. I was holding off for the 15 thinking give them a year to debug. My question was there any bugs in the 14's I really didn't hear about any? And is that as good of a price on a 14 as it sounds like?

The 14's have been pretty much trouble free. Make sure he checks for updates. The ignition key was a problem on a small batch. Tom :spyder:

the 2014s were pretty-much trouble-free...
Tom mentioned some ignition switch and/or key trouble.
Others have complained about noisey fuel pumps...
there were some oil leaks very early in production...

When you figure all of the improvements done to the RTs; these new bikes ROCK!!

The OP have laid it out very concisely for you. Unless you absolutely must have a 2015 color you have a good price to start at with a '14 S. Maybe you can pinch a bit more but the after sale service quality should weigh as heavily as the OTD price. JMO.

I love my 14 RTS, performance is HIGH. I have had personally no problems with mine.
Service intervals are unreasonably long, use discretion there.
That price sounds good ! you didn't mention SE6 or SM6, Think you will be glad you held out for the 1330 platform.

I want you to get the best price possible ......even if this RT-S is a semi-auto IMHO , I think the price should be less.......Remember a 2014 is now a LEFT-OVER.........go to KBB or NADA and see what the price is there for a used one .......In May 2014 I paid $21,340 for a NEW RT se-6......Basic..............call around and check the dealer's on E-Bay...........................Good Luck , Mike

All good....

most all the issues have been addressed and you should have no problems. The maintenance is very little on these machines and sounds like a good price...go for it you will like it. Test ryde it and you'll see...

I've got 43,600 miles on mine with not problems. Is the dealer offering any extended warranty with the purchase? I'd try to get 2 or 3 years BEST thrown in.

In addition to the problems already mentioned.
Depending on VIN
Gas Cap
Bushings & Bolts holding Windscreen to lift arms.

Have the dealer check the VIN against the Service Bulletins.

That's a pretty good deal. The 6 speed and 1330 are great compared to the pre 2014's. You will not be disappointed. No glitches or problems cropping up. I have 12,000 trouble free miles on my 2014 RT-S. Others have many more miles with same results.

I agree with most of the other posters about the quality of the '14s and the deal. But I would try to get them to sweeten the deal. An extended warranty would be great. If it hasn't already been laser-aligned, have them do that.

Thanks for all the info and thoughts on pricing. I felt it was a good price and think i will see if they will throw in a couple of extras. The one they have is an rts se6
