last night while checking my oil I somehow cross threaded the dipstick. Being made out of plastic, it was way to easy to do.
I can get the old one back in fairly tight but it's clearly cattawampus. Probably 1/2 the threads on one side are still visible. I ran the engine sitting still for a few minutes and didn't see any leakage, and it looks tight enough that nothing should get inside. Wouldn't want to run it thru a car wash or heavy rain, but short of that it looks ok.
I've got one on order (thank you Gary), but wanted to know if it's ok to ride. I'm in no way a gear head, so forgive me if it sounds like a dumb question. Just want to get some opinions on how advisable it is to run.
