• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Things you might not know, please add to this list. (RT Series)

On a RT Series Spyder

The Right side Saddlebag is larger than the Left side.

If you don't use the parking brake when you turn the Spyder off, the beeper will quit after 20 seconds.

Your Tires are Directional and should not be swapped side to side.

Your battery charger/tender should be compatible with an AGM battery.

If you use your car Battery to jump start your spyder, leave the car turned off and remove the jumper cables from your spyder as soon as it starts.

If you want your Fuel & Temp gauge to be digital on your dash just unplug both your analog temp and gas gauge and the digital ones will appear on your display.

A good rule of thumb for tire pressure is 18 (+ or - 2) for the front (be sure both are as close as possible for maximum ride stability) and 29 (+ or - 1) for the rear.

Be sure that your Spyder is warmed up good before checking your oil, do not overfill your oil.

Be sure that the brake reservoir caps (located under the seat) are on solidly and that the slightly raised area is pointed toward the back of your spyder or it could leak brake fluid.

DO NOT use a power washer to clean your spyder especially around the dash area.

If you can think of more good suggestions please post them on this thread.

If you allow your spyder to warm up for two or three minutes when you first start it for the day, it will run smoother with less "CLUNK".

Check your tire thread and replace if worn or there are any visible cracks or tire rot marks.

I'm going to try this with my 08 GS SE5. That "clunk" has always annoyed me and worried me.
I won't get to try it for a few days, as I have several new farkles to install, but I will report back.

Warm up and Safety.

Great post! I always warm up my Spydee as I dress in my gear and brain bucket.
In the safety mode, use your flash to pass on an 18 wheeler then pass smartly. In the Summer you do not want to be beside a big rig when the tyre blowes! I did the flash to pass and got many waves from drivers on my 3400 mile Texas trip. Ryde on my friends.

The newer RT models have a power port in the top trunk, that can either be hot all of the time, or powered-on when the ignition switch in on...
In the right-Hand fusebox:
If there's a fuse in position #6: the power port is going to be a keyed source of power.
If it's in position #7: it's hot all of the time.
You can use this to your advantage, by having accessories that are plugged into it; be powered down at shut-off, or you can plug a Battery Tender into it, when it's hot all of the time.

Regarding Bob's post about the fuses. You must go by the owner's manual numbering of the fuse slots and not the black embossed numbers on the fuse panels. The numbers on the panels are opposite the numbers assigned in the owner's manual.

Are fuse # 6 or 7 a 40 amp ?? (R) side.

From your point of view looking in the front trunk. The Spyders right fuse box is on your left.

Aside from loosing the ability to channel water out of the way why else would you NOT want to run directional tires in the reverse direction?

What more reason do you need?
