There actions not only cost 14 people their lives, but destroyed the lives of thousands of other people. How can you atone for that? I'm sure it wasn't their intent to cause the level of death and destruction that it did, but nevertheless, they need to be made an example of. Trying them as juveniles with maybe 6 weeks detention is a slap in the face of all those people effected by their actions.

They should visit the sites...

...of the damages that they caused and meet some of the family and friends of those who died to see first hand the grief and sadness they caused. Then, they help repair and clean up the damages. They should be tried as adults. What a shameful act and horrible loss of lives. Shame, shame, shame....

Coming from another country that experiences regular horrific bushfires from natural causes, along with the significant press coverage of these bushfires and the damage caused, you would have to think that these juveniles must have been at least aware that their deliberate actions could cause significant damage and possibly deaths. They do indeed need to be tried as adults.

I am only making light of the charges that need to be filed, the rest will be for the Judge and the Jury to decide the final fate in this life.

They are still entitled to their day in Court: Just make it an Adult Court!
