That's 100% correct, and when the DESS module sees a switch closure it places a code on the CanBus to stop the engine.

No, not when considering the overall system.
A malfunctioning DESS module could be the culprit.
Again thanks to all for your help. I would hope the the GM will take this bike to this "BRP Tech. hospital" in wausau,wi so this can be fixed. The part that disturbs us the most is that the dealership has to go to this place without getting help from a BRP tech directly. Or more importantly why cant a BRP tech go to the dealership directly so they can train the mech./tech at the same time. I will keep you posted on where the the spyder ends up:banghead:
