• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The RT will be at the Lamonster BBQ..

:congrats:-you deserve this honor and I know you will do a bang up job. Can't wait to start reading your reports.

I think that BRP has hit another home run.:yes:

They didn't just add on goodies,as many of us have,(cruise control, bar risers, highway pegs, stereo, comfort seat, hard case side-bags & top cases, etc.) to convert the roadster sport touring machine to an RT, but designed a touring machine from the ground up.

They even selected or had made a new engine that has higher low end torque - better suited for pulling a trailer.

There are many more couch potatoes out there (I being one:() that will love this touring machine - ala Goldwing lovers - than there are true sport riders. We also have a large aging population that enjoys open air riding comfort over long distances.

A tip of my Stetson to BRP for understanding customer needs and their response to them. And to select great Ambassador's of their product to test them is a pure touch of class!!!

 Congrats Lamont!!! Thats just awsome for you! :2thumbs: and Great for the group of use looking to decide to get a '09 or now a '10 as thier first spyder. I was excited to see the release of the '10 but no even more excited to see what a person such as yourself has to say about it. Congrats and I we are waiting!!!:coffee:

Congrats Lamont. What a great reward for all you have done for the Spyder community. You have given us this wonderful forum, you have tested and pushed the limits of the machine, you have commented with humility, intelligence, experience, and respect. In addition, you ride the wheels off your Spyder! I couldn't think of any better test rider or spokesperson. Wish we could be at the BBQ. Enjoy the Ryde!

.... As you might be able to tell I'm very excited about this product and can't wait to put it through it's paces. I feel honored that BRP would value my opinion and trust me with such a valuable piece of equipment. This is a highlight in this chapter of my life and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you all.

Congrats and :2thumbs:
.

....and the Spyders in the Smokies. I just got permission to let the Spyder out of the bag. :2thumbs:

When I was in Hollywood I was approached by BRP and asked if I wanted to take part in reviewing the Spyder RT. I had to think about it for about 1/2 a second but gladly accepted their offer. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. :D There will be 5 of us that have been given this privilege and I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in here now that we can.

As I understand it we will have the Spyder on loan for enough time to really put it through it's paces. BRP knows how I like to ride and they still asked me to take it out and ride the wheels off of it. I plan on testing every aspect of the RT and reporting back to BRP and SpyderLovers. I'll be glad to answer any of your questions about the RT and I have been known to take things apart from time to time to see how they work. :D

I fly out in the morning to DC and will go through some training on the RT. Friday we have a 5 hour ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway planned with BRP. Saturday I will head toward home (maybe) :D

My plans after that are to head back up to the New England states and visit some SpyderLovers. I may do this after the BBQ, I'm not sure yet. I talked to Tatt2r about maybe having a SpyderLovers meet at his place one Sunday. In any event I do plan to visit some of you guys on the new RT so you can take a first hand look at it.

You are gonna take it all apart and change everything like the hoses and stuff!:2thumbs: And then them it rides even better now:thumbup:

Also, when you make it up this way, feel free to crash at our place. Just don't mind the cat - she likes to sleep on people's heads. Our tarantulas will be locked up good so no worries about any of them escaping like one did last night.

I'm in I can take a ride with you up to Tatt2rs keep me posted :ani29:
sure HDX and Smylinacha might want to go
I will behave promise:D

I hope I won't "crash" at your place but I would like to stay the night if it works out. I'm good with cats and tarantulas, I love critters. :doorag:

I won't be changing anything because it's not mine but I do hope to take it apart. :D

Thanks Bro, I really wish you could make it too. Maybe I'll just have to visit you up there. :doorag:

. . . just how does BRP think they are going to get it back?

Tom
We think alike ;):thumbup::ohyea:

Doc cant have one. It would be worn out before the bar-b-que.:yikes::yikes::yikes:
That is very close to the truth. You got to love Doc. :D

If you time it right, it be a really nice foliage trip for you. We got plenty of water this year and the fall foliage should be nice and bright.
That would be great and may workout just right. I'm thinking after the BBQ is the best time to run up there.

Oh geez. Now I gotta try to find a way to get myself to Lamonster's BBQ. Congrats my friend, quite a little honor if you ask me. I would love the opportunity take one of these things for a month or two. My wife kinda likes it too. It is really growing on me but I can't see giving up my 2008 SE5. Not yet anyway. I wonder if the hitch and trailer can be added to the current models?

Again, :congrats: Lamont.
I'll take a good look at the hitch setup and let you know. :doorag:

That is fantastic Lamont. I think they picked the perfect guy for this. If you get up this way, we would be glad to host a MI gathering of SpyderLovers as well. You know you are always welcome here. We can't wait to see that new RT up close and it looks like we are going to be able to be there early on Thursday or even Wed. night now for the BBQ. See you soon and looking forward to see both you and the Mrs. again.
Maybe when you get here we can make some plans to have a meet up there. :doorag:

wish I could be there too

100% :agree: Every word.

Life has a way of constantly giving us new chapters, the trick is to make each one better than the one before it. It looks like you already know that.

Tom

oh oh . . . . .

Smylinacha, read what he said closely.

I hope I won't "crash" at your place but I would like to stay the night if it works out. I'm good with cats and tarantulas, I love critters. :doorag:

I think that translates into; "I am bringing raccoons."

Probably won't be as bad as frogs. ;)

Tom

Congrats bro. You are one of the best choices to get to have this test run of the RT.
