• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For those of you who haven't seen them - the old growth trees are 1500 to 2000 years old - and tower hundreds of feet into the air.

Follow this link to get an idea of the scale:

You won't find anything like these anywhere else. Even if you can't come to Spyders in the Redwoods, this is an area worth the effort to visit.

On our way down, we will traverse Highway 199, which runs through Jedediah Smith Redwoods SP - (IMHO) the most magnificent and least developed stand of old growth redwoods.

I think Spydergirl and the California crowd did a super job in choosing this venue. This is a terrific place to ride, and far from the overpopulated crush that most attribute to California. Soon to be a past event…

 I am very stoked! :2excited: I haven't stopped along there in many years. California has such diverse environs...upper desert, lower desert, beach, mountains, forests - you name it - even glaciers, snow topped mountains, and some of the deepest lakes around. So you're so right about having that tough choice to make...hats off SpyderGirl and associates! SpyderGirl is like the west coasts Lamonster...lol. :doorag:

Looking forward to getting there already

I absolutely love this part of California. It's hard to believe it's part of California since it's so much unlike the areas most are familiar with (Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, etc), which is why I chose this location.

It's a Spyder gathering AND a vacation away from the norm that a lot of us on the west coast are used to dealing with day in and day out.

I highly recommend to anyone to come and visit this area of California, even if you can't make it to Spyders in the Redwoods.

I can't believe that SITR is only 7 days away. :)

Meeting at BK right side north bound 101 and I should be there by 1100 or 1115 hrs. 707-239-6703

After I get raped for $10.50 + $5.00 that morning to cross the bridge.... we'll do our best to be there promptly. I'm hoping to be there by no later than 11 or 11:15 too. The plan was to meet a San Diego rider in Upper Lake at 10:15ish.

I will be meeting one or two riders from Compton who are staying in Windsor on Sunday and we will travel together up to Willits. See ya there and ride safe.
