There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. In hopes of getting some meat into our discussions which, according to some, have been going down the tubes lately...I wish you to consider...

Labor Day is rapidly approaching. The last of the summer season final cookout bash will soon be upon us. One of the items that are served at these picnics as well as many State Fairs is the lowly hot dog.

I have developed my opinion on the question to follow, but do not want to cloud this thread with unnecessary facts.

What is the proper condiment, if any, to properly dress and present the hot dog? Explain if you have the urge. :roflblack::roflblack:

Hot dog

Mustard
sometimes chili
maybe chopped onions
but never, ever, ever put ketchup on a hotdog! Never! 😝

Condiment: Mustard

Reason: Tradition

Other acceptable toppings: Sauerkraut, Chili, Onions.

NON ACCEPTABLE TOPPING: KETCHUP (never, ever, ever)

Cruzr Joe

Spicy mustard
Chili
Cole Slaw

Because that is the only way to enjoy a hot dog.

(the meat should be Nathans dinner size franks)

I just eat 2 hot dogs for dinner. Toasted bun with Swiss cheese Hellmann's dijonaise mustard and chopped raw onions. Awesome ( oh and baked beans )

or mustard, onions, yellow peppers

Yes Bob, good Brats. I'm talking the good imports from Germany. The white ones. If I can't get them, Johnsonville will work. I boil mine in beer then finish them on the grill.

Now as to the OPs question. Down here in the south a hot dog is served all the way unless specified otherwise. That includes mustard, onions, chili, slaw. Most hot dogs here are Bright Leaf. They are a red dog. I don't mind them, wife doesn't like them. I prefer an all beef dog such as Ball Park. I will never tolerate Ketchup on my hot dogs.
