• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

the problem I brought on myself!

I took my Spyder to the store today and when I came out, it wouldnt start!! so began a long day. I found a guy in the store who had jumper cables....we hooked up his truck to the bike.....got everything to come on, but no start....after a while, we gave up...I got a ride home and called for a tow.......the dealership was closed today.......so I arranged for it to be towed home...thinking maybe the battery was drained when I put the satellite radio on yesterday!! anyway, the tow driver showed up and in order to turn the parking brake off, we attached his charge box and it started!!!! since I had my car, we towed it to my house, with it running.....it towed very easily on a flatbed........got it home, put it in my garage and now it's charging........

I posted this as a reminder to you and ME!!!!!!:banghead:

I hope it wasn't something like the Spyder was in gear and needed to have the brake peddle depressed.?? I've scratched my head on that a few times before I realized it. or the "kill switch" was accidently turned on

I am missing something - what did you bring on yourself? Running the battery down? I would have thought that if it started to drive to the store it would have replaced the charge from running the radio the day before? I have certainly drained the battery a couple times listening to "tunes" but a simple jump and 5 minutes of running has restored the charge.

kill switch was in the correct position.....foot on the brake.....having the semiauto transmission, it will start in any gear......I believe the first guy's cables were not working well....the tow guy's gear had the bike started on the first try.....I even looked at fuses to see if that was the issue.....apparently, I had just run down the battery......it had enough juice to do the initial start, but the store was only 4 miles away and it takes at least ten minute of riding time to charge a battery......

If it happens again, remember that some RTs have a radio issue where some drain the battery. Your dealer can check...and also do the antenna sealing service bulletin that prevents future occurrances.

OK - thanks, Epiphysis = I was not connecting the dots as to what you determined you had brought on yourself. Overall battery health will also affect this so a drain on a new battery will have different end results than a drain on an older battery.

When I drain mine (relatively new batteries) I just jump them and let them idle a few minutes to re-charge and seems to be ok. Does not mean that works for everyone though.

Hope that you issue is just as you suspect though.

just so you understand that idling for a few minutes will not recharge the battery. I have another bike with the Kury battery indicator on it....in order for the battery to reach full charge, I have to ride it for at least ten minutes, not just idle......please don't think that you have really charged it with five minutes of idle.....these are not very large batteries and do not take long to run down....it depends on what you are doing...I once stopped to adjust my music source with my heated gear plugged in.....I then spent the next hour waiting for an old battery charger to do it's thing.....I posted this to remind me as much as you guys...apparently I do this often!!!!!!! and thanks for your concerns.....the bike has been on the charger all day and maybe tomorrow I will find the time to go for a ride!!!!
