• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The party is over....

Just a blast!

We had so much fun! I'm here to tell you, the fellowship is just fantastic! Old friends, new friends, friends of friends, strangers - friends in waiting! I had a bout ( I lost) with pneumonia last week. I was in the hospital 3 days, and got out to come here. I was blown away at how many well wishers and concern there was for me! These are true friends, and the warmth and love was overwhelming. Spyder folks are the best! For those who have not attended an event, come! If you don't know anybody, come find us. We know almost everybody, and can make you feel welcome, and glad you came! I actually feel better, from the tribe! If you love your Spyder, you are a Spyderlover! Us, too! So, pack up, and come! Joe

Glad you and Ann were able to make the trip and enjoy the event! All the love and friendship did have a healing effect as well! Glad you are feeling better, Joe!

Only have had my RT Limited for less than a month and starting to feel comfortable riding it after 50+ years on 2 wheels. Looking forward to attending some of these get-togethers next year. Looks like a lot of fun.

Attendance numders

I see all these posts about shows and Spyder events, and I keep asking the same question, no responses.
I have never been to such a thing, want to go, this year a pinched nerve in my neck prevented it..
How amny attended?
How many or percent of attendees rode in or trailered in?

I suppose that I could to 800 mile Ryde in, but by the time you get there do you still want to go on the group Rydes?

Joe

Go if you can___

Hi Joe,

Go if you can---even if its a 2 day ( 400 mi a day) to get there. We went on our first big ralley earlier this month ( the NORCAL ralley ) Had a great time!!!!! I'm usually not one for big groups or large group rides but this was ALL GOOD. The Sacramento chapter of the SRA did a great job in all areas of the event. Joe and Ann of Squared Away are the best.

Great ? Joe. But only you can answer some of them. For this rally I know that close to 410 attended...
i traveled 1200 miles to attend. Matters not how far I can or will ryde in a day..do what works for you and travel accordingly. Your life, your ryde...no competition!!!
i see both those who trailer in, those who ryde in...% of each no idea.
Your ? On group Rydes? Again personal choice...some folks like others don't. Beauty of most rallies....do what "floats your boat"
sure hope to see you in 2017. This is my last rally for 2016...but already have some on 2017 calendar..

Thanks Murphey, coming from you it means a lot, as it seems you are some sort of a Legend around here.
would anyone venture a guess? Do half the people trailer in? 30%?

same for Spyderfest and Quest?

Joe

It was a great time and nice to put a face with a name.

You can go to their website site for that information...from what I know we'll over 400 and I did not see that many trailers. They came from all over the continental United States and canada...

Probably 10-20 percent. Distance, physical limitations, and scheduling play a big role in deciding to trailer.

I'll try and answer your question. If you need to trailer your Spyder to attend ,then do it. You've been riding 50+ years you have nothing to prove to anyone. My wife will not ride long distances or on freeways. If we want to attend a rally of any travel distance either we take 2 vehicles or we trailer the Spyder. Works great. If you have been riding 50+ years you're no spring chicken. So why beat yourself up on long ride only to have to do lots of riding the next day. You're here for fun and to enjoy you Spyder. If you have to trailer it in. BTW like you I also have 50+ years of riding under my belt. A trailer is my solution and I use it.
