• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Opinions of the Uninformed

It is fun to sit back and read the thoughts and opinions of those that have no clue.......

Reading the content of those posts there seems to be a lot of floundering going on as hard-assed bikers are forced to notice the new kid on the block. Clearly, (unlike we Spyder junkies), they don't know what to make of it. But they'll learn. Slowly, maybe, but they will. :spyder2: :D:D:D

After reading all of the posts (8 pages), Lamont would never let us get away with all that keyboard crazyness. Half of the posts made no sense at all. The administator on that forum made several posts herself and made no attempt to stop the crazyness between posters.

One post that was funny....... The guy said our Spyder looks like someone kicked one wheel out from underneath a Smartcar. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: That was a good one !!!

Thanks Lamont

:agree:I could only stand to read the first 4 pages, however. I'm glad I have Lamont and all of you to keep me straight. That guy "Tate", is a :cus::cus:.

Ignorance is bliss?

I didn't realize I'm a yuppie for buying my Spyder. Yes, indeed... This mid-life crisis of mine has been so hard on me.

Pretty amusing reading. Did you notice Tate's location? Abbottabad, Pakistan Or that the site administrator says he wants one. It is not very often that any topic goes on for 8 pages here so I guess that people are taking notice of the Spyder.

I found the one funny about a bunch of Yuppies rYding Spyders. Luckily for him there are NO Yuppies riding HDs or any other bike for that matter...LOL.

In the end it matters not to me what anyone thinks about the Spyder. I bought it so me and the wifey could have some fun together. And we do.

Bottom line is everyone buys,,, based on two primary criteria.
1. What they want
2. What they can afford (cause it ain't always what you really want)

So RYDE and enjoy what you have. Most two wheelers give me a wave and nod. I'd say 90%+, so don't worry about the rest!

I am also a member of this forum below. It is fun to sit back and read the thoughts and opinions of those that have no clue.......

Note that this is the most active topic on this forum right now. Like them or not ( I do), Spyder's are a great conversation piece.

In the spirit of finding a positive in just about everything, I followed a poster's link to the site on motorcycle ergonomics (http://cycle-ergo.com/). It has the RT and RS models for comparison, and after plugging in my height, inseam, and a couple of other factors, it sure looked like the pictures I've seen of myself riding. Kind of cool, and might be a good resource for the short/tall/wondering what effect risers will have, etc. crowd.

Who cares what they think -- as for me I ryde a Spyder and that is all that counts!!! :ohyea:

:agree:I ride a Spyder And Two wheelers, It all depends on what i feel like at any particular day. I think too many Spyder owners are a little insecure.
These someone knocked the Spyder what do you think posts kind of point to that fact.:D
Gee, if someone doesn't like the Spyder it's not like their saying your Mother wears combat boots , Or your Mother dresses you funny. Because when i was ten, those were fighing words.:roflblack:

Pretty hilarious creative writing.....

"Now I'm going to say this, realize it's knee-jerk and I really don't mean it. Those things are just dreadful; the commercials make me nauseous.... big bunches of squares rolling around going to square places with their square wanna bikes....

They are misrepresenting these as safe alternatives to a motorcycle and that they're easy to drive. Maybe, but a bike's agility and a well trained rider are one of the best active safety tools at a motorists diposal.

OK, now I'm done. I guess they're OK, I'd rather be torn about by wild dogs. I have ridden one, it is fun. But you know it's like, well you know. It's fun until someone sees you doing it.

OK, stop it! They are alternatives to motorcycles. It was fun to ride. It looks like someone put a bidet on top of a backwards tricycle.

And I bet they sell 50,000 of them."

Same here, and I have to agree agree. As for 'fighting words', I'm old enough to remember those too. I used to light the fuse with "Guess we must have had the same Mother." Rain stopped for now; maybe the wife will let her Spyder out of the garage.:ohyea:

I didn't dive into the comments on that site at all and appreciate you pulling out a nugget. This was cool to see how various changes can effect my seating position. Thanks for finding and sharing.
