• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. The Heat Final Solution...

So, my 600 mile is soon. I have felt the dragons breath under my seat, and a vibratiion at 5500 rpm for them to sort out.
As far as the heat, I am going to have them check for leaks in the exhaust manifold since my clothes have an odor when I ride.

What I would like to know is other than wrapping the headers with tape, what exact other items can I install on my 2012 RTS to move the heat along, away from me and the passengers?

Which specific Spyder pops and other items?

I want to get the dealer to install them.

thanks

Smelly Clothing

Reference your smelly clothing and the exhaust manifold being the cause. If your exhaust manifold were at fault you would be hearing it more then feeling or smelling it.

As far as the "SpyderPops" products I guess you would need the "Cat kit, the Exhaust heat shield and a vent blocker." Not really familiar but know leaky exhaust manifolds and that would definitely be noisey!!! Since your going to do al the above you had just as well go the full route and get them to wrap your exhaust header pipes in heat tape while they have the RSS naked to the whole world.

Getting all the above done you will have to buy heated clothing to ride this winter! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

The RT gaskets are not prone to leakage. On the older RS models it was an issue and you could go to a premium honda gasket. Get up under there with it running and feel around (without touching) the exhaust flange. If it's leaking you both feel and hear it.
Wrapping the exhaust pipes is a definite plus as well as at least one Spyderpops blockoff plate. Zillions of posts on heat issues, just do a search and have fun.

I have been out several days now in 95 Degree heat with Excessive humidity and run 4 Bars mostly with some 5 Bars. No Boiling gas or other things and I have a 2012 Base RT- What I think really helps is taking the bottom Left and Right side under plastic pieces off because it allows a GREAT amount of heat to escape as you ride!!!
The piece below the right side lets a Enormous amount of heat escape from that area near the Brake Master cylinders which have been a problem with the 2013,s!

Your manual tells you ALL you need to know to take these pieces off- Its worth the effort!!!nojoke

You will have to remove them yourself though... the dealer will not remove factory stuff and leave it off.
