• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Hazzards of night riding

Just got back after about a little 30 mile night ride, it was so nice out I couldn't resist. About 20 miles into the ride I spotted a small baby skunk sitting in the middle of the road, I tried to swerve and miss it but I think my new bump skid might have caught the little fellow. I didn't feel anything but could smell him right away. The odor went away after a few more miles. When I got home I got my flashlight and checked the bike over but didn't see anything. Upon parking in the garage, got my wife to see if she could smell anything and she couldn't so I guess I just scared the smell out of the skunk and didn't catch him on anything on the bike and brought him home. Thank Goodness!!!:yikes:

Yeah, that really "stinks" but glad your ok. I've seen two wheelers go down trying to avoid a small animal. I rather crunch the little beastie than my ride.

PHEW! Not a smell I enjoy on a nice evening ride. Given the choice between hitting a little critter and taking the ditch--well--it's a pretty easy decision to make. glad you escaped the long lasting odor!!! LOL

Look at it this way; It's much better to scare the stink out of them, than it is to knock it out of them!

Back in my commune days I was sleeping in a barn and a skunk wandered in one night. The smell was so bad the only thing that I can compare it to is the tear gas chamber in the Army.

Once when i was out Grouse hunting with my Old man's dumber than dirt Short Hair, Dopey decided to retrieve a live Skunk, As he bought it closer, It was a tossup as to run or shoot both of them, But when he got within 20 feet the Skunk let lose and then dopey intimately dropped it. Dopey stayed in the bed of the truck for the ride home.
