• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The dumbest Spyder question yet.

Sunday was out washing the Spyder, when a guy walked by and said, I see you riding that everyday, you like that thing? I told him the Thing is behind the van and with the small doors, I'm to tall to fit into it. He says :hun: I said pointing to the VW Thing, it's too hard for me to fit in it and it's not running now, so I ride the Spyder. He says :hun: I thought :hun: Now where did I put his sign? :roflblack:

Does that thing steer from the rear???
No kidding, some guy at the store really had to ask.....

:yikes:

I would NEVER have asked that!!! :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

Seriously, a guy just asked me that the other day in Indiana when Firefly and I stopped for gas on our way home from Missouri. nojoke

Oh, sorry Some Guy ! ! ! ! :opps: No offense intended to you . . .. .
I was trying not to offend anyone by saying it was a big burly Marine that asked....
:dontknow:

Other FAQ

Can you buy this in the US? (Not had this one since the BRP commercials started)

Is this legal to ride in the US? (same as above but give me a break :dontknow: I'm filling up at a gas station having ridden there on public streets with a Tennessee license plate on the back!)

Does it really go 200 mph?

How can you see where you're going? (I have my short windshield blacked out).

Do the front wheels have brakes?

How fast will it go?

Is it hard to steer (not withstanding DPS issues)

What kind of gas mileage does it get?

Does it lean?

Can you do a wheelie?

Will it flip over? (I assume they mean in a turn).

Will it flip over frontwards if you stop too fast?

Some are reasonable, some make you stop and think and some are just funny.

I have no others to add, but I do want to confirm without question every single time I am stopped I get walkups. Sometimes even while in traffic. :hun:

Unfortunately, on my first ride into work this past week I was tooling along and got that cager who drove up next to me to pass...then slowed down to match my speed (you know the ones). Obviously checking out my ride. They really should have been checking out the traffic stopped in front of him because no sooner had they matched my speed I heard the telltale rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....crunch as they backended the car stopped in their lane.

No, I didn't turn around to give them their sign. :D

I'm am looking forward to using some of these replys though. Thx!

Have you had them pull up along side you on the freeway and try to take your picture with their cell phone yet? :yikes: That one always makes me nervous.

Yes, and some try to carry on a conversation too. That's where a full face helmet with a mirrored shield really comes in handy! :D

I will not let them get close enough on a 2 lane road to pull that little stunt. ;)

Thanks for the laughs!:roflblack::roflblack: This thread has made my morning!:2thumbs:

On the discussion of "stupid" questions; I agree on "there are no stupid questions", but there are ignorant people that make ignorant questions. I don't mind answering their questions, but it ticks me off when you have to listen to the same question from the same person periodically (usually the same day). These questions are the ones where you give them a dumb answer just to vent.

My unique :spyder2: question was a few weeks ago when the weather was nice and after coming back from travel, I decided to take Gray Recluse out to streach her legs. I stopped at Baskin Robbins because my wife was sick but wanted some ice cream. While I was loading up, a lady comes up and asked me "Is that a conversion kit?" Of course, I thought that was a legit question so I told her "No, I bought it as is". Her husband, next to her, did not say a word yet, he just watched us conversing about the :spyder2:. She finally said that her husband owns an gray RS and she liked the saddlebags and the back seat support and thought I had mine converted. He finally spoke up and told me that he bought his when they first came out and since he doesn't stop by his dealer too often:hun: he (or her) did not know about the RT. Regardless, he (they) being a :spyder2:owner, we exchanged contact information and went our ways. I haven't heard from them but he did say they live a couple of streets down of my house.

A few weeks ago I bundled up and took the :spyder2: out for some much needed fresh air and exercise. After awhile I stopped at a convenience store to get a cup of hot chocolate. While sitting on the seat sipping my drink I watched a young, athletically built lady filling her tank. There was a bike on the rear of the SUV. As she walked up to go into the store she stopped to look the :spyder2: over. After a few chatty moments she told me that the :spyder2: looked kinda heavy, but thought it was really cool someone had thought of installing the retractable pedals on my bike. ;)

Question: Why do you need three wheels on that thing?
Answer: To avoid the added cost of a kickstand.
