I wanted to write to say THANK YOU for all of the wonderful and helpful information on SpyderLovers. Two weeks ago, after months of scouring this site, I finally bought my Spyder. We rented one on Memorial Day, to see what this crazy three wheeled thing was all about… and well… Memorial Day in the White Mountains was a lovely 33 degrees with snow, so our first experience was ---interesting---but we put in a full 8 hours and knew… there was something to this. The next weekend, it was 103 degrees… a mere 4 days later…love New England!! And well, after another 8 hours and 300 miles, we were smitten. The next weekend, we ran into a Spyder Run while ryding along the Kancamangus and were amazed by the camaraderie of the Spyder Ryders, we were obsessed now! 4 rentals later and my husband and I were slaves to CycleTrader searching for our own. I wanted that 2013 ST-L badly, but I was hesitant with all the talk of heat issues. 2 weeks ago, when we had almost given up til next year, we found a mint condition 2008 GS. I felt so comfortable talking with the dealer about all of my questions … that I knew to ask from reading numerous posts, he was impressed that I knew what to look for and inquire about. It will be our starter Spyder… and.. I haven’t written till now because I’ve been infatuated with it. I LOVE THIS THING. And I am so happy to know that this excellent forum exists to share my excitement and learn more and more about these awesome machines. Lots of forums are full of rude people and nasty posts, SpyderLovers seems like one big happy family. THANK YOU again. 1000 Spyder miles and counting! :2thumbs:
