• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Testing Spyder tomorrow morning!

2 better than 1?!

We like to think of it as taking credit not taking blame for getting Barb a Spyder. Let us know when she gets hers, I think another trip might be at hand. What is half way between us? Hmmm, we'll have to make some plans. Oh yeah and Goodhouse, welcome to the forum and have a great test ride.
Deb

Ok, OK, Deb, you guys get "credit!"

Speaking of credit, I guess I have to take yet another trip to the bank...

(BTW, halfway between us and you looks like Burlington, Ontario!)

test the spyder - you will want it

Why? All my balance issues are gone! I can just get on and ryde. I'm not just a passenger behind my hubby any more (not bad thing but it's fun to be on my OWN bike). I didn't have any trouble at all with just a foot brake, either. Have fun with your test drive! I'm betting you sign back on tomorrow and tell us you put one on order!:2thumbs:

:agree::yes::spyder: I did two test rides but I have to say I was sold on the first ride. I did feel even more comfortable on the second ride.

Update:

I went to the dealer this morning and they have 4 in stock, 3 still in crates in the yard and 1 they drive but the owner was driving it yesterday and punctured the side wall of the tire, so could only see it and touch it. They are waiting for a tire on order for the rear that they punctured. So i was a bit disappointed but releaved at the same time because i am a bit nervous since i have no experience riding motorcycles.

But i talked with the sales people a while, learned a lot. I am going to do some more research but i definitely loved the spyder.

Since i was not able to test drive the spyder i called my aunt up and asked if she would let me try her bike (kawasaki vulcan 900). So she gave me a quick lesson and i tried it down the street. After that test drive i definitely realized i need to order the automatic because i am just not comfortable with the manual right now. I need more experience. So i'm glad i did not have to test drive the spyder because i would have been nervous as hell at the dealership. My aunt actually rented a spyder on a weekend vacation in rhode island 2 weeks ago, she said they are awesome! swears by them and tells me i will love it. She said not only is it fun, safe, and cool, it grabs serious attention is a good conversation piece!

So the dealer is going to call me this week and let me know the availability of the SE5 in yellow. I then have to see if i want to buy this machine. I found it to be pricier than i thought it would be. I was thinking it was going to be a couple of thousand less. Then i see all the accessories to buy such as the power adapter, windshield, fog lights, HID bulbs, etc. Looks like it would be 20k out the door. Pretty steep!

I also want to thank everyone for all their comments, this board is definitely helpful!
sooo....i got some thinking to do.

Trypod : What makes the spyder so addicting for you?

Or anyone else for that matter?

GoodHouse, sorry about taking so long to get back on this but was out :spyder: 'in. Trying to name just one thing about how I became addicted to this critter :spyder: , is hard to do. For one, I'm a gear-head by trade and hobby and the first thing that got me was the darned amazing technology built into the :spyder: , another, I thought it was just about the coolest looking production machine I have seen yet (especially in this price range), after I ordered I rode a demo, then another demo, then another demo, then......well, i had to wait a very long time to take delivery of #1115 so the dealer may have begun to get a little tired of my "demo" rides about once a week or so for 6 months. Then I started putting miles on my own :spyder: and when I'm not ryding, I'm thinking about it, and even thinking of "errands I need to run" just to take a ryde, it's just plain fun to ryde. The hardest thing for me to get used to was all that darned attention, but thanks to fellow SpyderLover brothers and sisters here, I'm ready for those silly questions now with plenty of "thoughtful" answers. I know I have run on and maybe still not answered your question, so I will revert back to my original thought for you, go take a demo ryde and see if you get bitten, you'll start getting why most all of us here are so taken by this little machine. If you order the SE5, then at every opportunity go back and take another "demo" ryde on the dealership's SM5, it will only make you more comfy on yours when you take delivery. :clap::2thumbs:

:agree::agree::agree:

:agree::yes::yes::yes::2thumbs::clap::clap::clap:.

If I was any happier with mine they would have to bottle me up and sell me. It is one "addictive" machine. Greatest high ever experienced (except for wife of course). LOL.
