Tested a new Spyder today ....

Let me relate my story: it's bound to make you feel better!
Back in 2010; I bought my first Spyder. It was an RT A&C model. I had never even sat on one of these machines, before writing the check! :shocked:
After showing me everything that I immediately forgot: the salesman kicked me out into traffic for a 64 mile ride home...
I quickly started thinking that I had just made a $25,000 dollar mistake! :yikes: The bike was twitching around like a toad on a hotplate. No matter how tightly I gripped the bars, and fought to correct it: I was all over the place, and starting to get seasick!
Then: a stray thought occurred...
If Ski Doo can build sleds that'll track straight down a groomed trail; Can Am should be able to do the same with these bikes...
So I took a breath, and relaxed my grip... ray:

The Clouds parted, and the bike was more than happy to get me home!
I've never looked back! :thumbup:

Yes, yes, yes! Relax that grip and forget the counter steering; it will make all the difference. If the Spyder was assembled just yesterday I'll bet the alignment isn't worth a :cus:. Too bad for an out of the box set up, but that gives you the opportunity to arm twist the dealer into including the Rolo laser alignment for free as part of the OTD price.

Yes Sir! A Vulcan 2000 LTD, Red/Silver color. Almost went to a Triumph Rocket Three (2300 cc). When I sat on that one (Fire Engine Red) and gave the throttle a little twist, the bike wanted to torque itself over to one side. That seemed like just a bit much on the power curve. .

Ahhhhh. The LTD....my favourite colour schemes. I had a purple one, and I DID go to the Rocket 3. You weren't a ROG group member, were you?

Motorcycle versus Spyder

I, too, moved to a Spyder from a Honda Shadow Aero. My two biggest learning curves were no front brake handle and no leaning in curves. Once I learned, about two weeks' time, all was well.

Now I ryde with pleasure and have never looked back!
