• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anybody else dislike their iPad since updating to iOS 8.1
it's slow, jerkie, apps crash,Safari is like using dialup.

Yes I find the same! I did do a hard reboot, by holding in the power and home button at the same time.(kind of like rebooting your PC) just be aware that if you have folders made, it gets rid of them and puts all the icons individually on the home pages. But it did seem to help with the speed issues. Also clean your cache in settings>safari>Clear history and web data. Something else that may help, but is more work, is back the iPad up to iTunes, then reset it to factory defaults and re-install all your apps. Hope this helps.

I'm still digging my Windows 7 machine... :2thumbs:
The Missus has one of those I-Pad things; I just can't warm up to their way of doing things... :banghead:

Hmmm...I have the iPad 3 and haven't had the first problem.

I have the iPad mini with Retina display and have had none of the issues mentioned above. The gf has an iPad IV and has had no problems.

You do know that even if you have an iPad out of warranty, Apple support will still help walk you thru any problems without charge when related to updating to the current iOS. And, as an added benefit, you can actually understand them.

I called them 2 weeks ago when I downloaded Yosemite to my out of warranty iMac and had problems; they were with me for around 2 hrs. until my problem was corrected.

I believe 8.1 totally screwed up my IPad 2.....wifi connection problems galore. A new IPad Air 2 solved the problem:dontknow:

I have an iPad 2 and hated it after I upgraded to iso6! It messed up my incoming email. So I didn't upgrade to iso7.
thanks for posting about the iso8 problems.

From who I've spoken with, the iPad 2 can't handle the update, but my 3 is fine.

Back when I put in 7, I was having issues and found that it was just time to wipe and rebuild it again. I didn't restore it from a backup, rather I used iCloud and IMAP email to re-sync the content and reinstalled what I wanted on it. That worked very well, and isn't a bad idea every so often.

Maybe wow

I just updated to 8.1.1, which came out today.
so far so good, much quicker and smoother.
