There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Thinking of taking Teddy on a Tour thru the Eastern part of the US from our home on the banks of the Ohio River & heading over to CT. The map above shows the most direct route for us to take, but if their were SpyderLovers close by or along the route that would like to meet Teddy in person, well we'd love to be able to stop by for a lil meet-n-greet:2thumbs:

Also, if anyone has any advice or suggestions for our trip (Detours we may just HAVE to do/see) please chime in. We've got the week off from work, no plans except to meet SpydermanCT to say thanks in person & figured this would make for a great road-trip  We just finished the oil-change & check-up on Teddy's :spyder2: & we're get'n the Moto-Mate Camper set up with all our needed road-trip items & are thinking of taking to the road tomorrow:thumbup:

Would be great to meet up with other SpyderLovers that we may not have been able to meet in person with at the Bar-B-Q or Maggie Valley Owners Events:thumbup:

New Spyder Owner

Just purchased my new RS SE5 Spyder from PVM PowerSports in Florence Ky. Yvonne & Bryan seem like pretty good people to deal with knowledgeable about Spyders and friendly attitude. Looking for Spyder owners in the Cinn. Oh. and N. Ky. area for long and short rides.

 Have a safe trip............glad to hear Teddy is up for an adventure:2thumbs:. Must mean that he is feeling a lot better!:2excited:

Have you tried the blue ridge parkway yet??? Slow going and lots to see. Beautiful sites and lots of pull outs. twistys all the way!!!:2thumbs::firstplace: Glad Teddy is better!!!

You will be passing within 1 mi of our home here in Milford, Pa. If you'd like to stop, need anything, or want some info on points of interest, feel free to contact us. My recommendation would be to stay on Route 80 until just before going into NJ. Go up Rt 209("the HO CHI MINH trail"), nicer ride than going RT81 and it takes you right to Rt84.
I am off tomorrow ,then working rest of week, typically get home around 3:30-4 PM each day. Gretchen will be home Weds. & Fri.

Teddy's Seat

Just curious, thinking of taking Abby on my Spyder with me - does Teddy have a harness to keep him on the seat???? :2thumbs: thanks

Responses & Thank You ALL for your Well-Wishes

must be nice to have the money to do the travels you take.
Ha Ha... Now that's funny:roflblack:The :spyder2:& Moto-Mate Camper offer the cheapest vacations I've ever been on in my life. Camping is very cheap compared to staying at hotels, & when on the road, a Rest Area provides a free campsite:clap: & even tho most of us complain about MPG's (myself included:opps:) what other vehicle can you have :yes:THIS MUCH FUN:yes: with & still pull your own camper & average around 24 MPG's????:hun:

I sent you a PM, we should be back from our CT trip by this weekend, so if you want to get together for a M-N-Greet, just let us know when:2thumbs:

He is doing much much better:clap: When we get back from our trip, I'll post a video for all of you guys to see for yourself:yes:

Yup, many time actually. At least the part if it from Cherokee to Maggie Valley, as that was our main route back to our campground every night when we were at the Owners Event - GOOD TIMES

Bill, thank you VERY MUCH  & I'll be giving you a ring if/when we make it by your area:thumbup:

He has an EASY RIDER HARNESS with an elongated tether that I attach to a lead that I have mounted to the frame of the :spyder2:. It comes up from under the RT-S seat thru the open whole at the rear of the seat. Then I put a small hole in one of his doggy beds, fish the tether thru the bed & attach it to TEDDYS harness & it works great. I wouldn't suggest a dog on the leather seat directly, as their nails can cause severe damage to your seat. If you check on TEDDYS thread "TEDDYS NEW ADVENTURES" I believe I have pictures of it posted so you can see how it is all set up:2thumbs:

Your Route from Scranton coming East... is that on 84?? If you're passing near Milford, Matamorus, or Port Jervis you'd be close enough for a get-together if the timing is right...

Leaving in the morning - - - Maybe, I think???

Ran into some issues with Teddy's new mods. The Garmin Zumo 665 that we got last winter had to go back to Garmin. Every now & then, the voice for directions and music would turn into Alvin & the Chipmonks :dontknow: Not what I expect from a unit such as this. After talking with their tech. support, reloading everything & updating the software, they said to send it in:lecturef_smilie: Now I wait  So, my friend & I added a couple of Ram mounts to where the analogue gauges were, and I also added one on top of the dash using a $20 mount from Verizon Wireless. I thought I'd just use my Droid for Nav. as it works really well, just not water proof. Well, we got it all mounted & worked well, but for some reason, (I'm not very electrically inclined) I took a car charger, cut off the cigarette adapter & direct wired it to the Spyder. At 1st, thought all was well. When plugged in, it shows its charging like usual:thumbup: Only problem, IT ISN'T CHARGING :yikes: While running around today, the battery died on me, even while it was plugged in & showing that it was charging :( I'm sad. Kinda hard to make a road trip without using a GPS (God forbid I have to get out a map:roflblack:) Hmmmmm, wonder if I can mount my Ipad on the dash for GPS :roflblack: where's doc when I need him :helpsmilie::roflblack::roflblack:

So, I'm mauling over my options, but I kinda like the Ipad one, actually just thought of it, and think I'm gonna go into the garage & tinker a little & see what happens. If I can get the Ipad mounted, think we'll be on our way. If not, I'll wait til morning & see what I can get going.

Ummmmmm............. NO

Ok, try'n to mount an Ipad to the Dash without an actual Ipad mount is something I would highly NOT suggest trying:yikes: Tho I have to admit, it was a funny site to see:roflblack: glad its almost 2am and mostly drunks are out now & they really can't make out what they're seeing :roflblack:

UGH ..... we're still at home

:sour:Still stuck here at the crib:popcorn: UPS just delivered my Garmin back. Seems they gave me a totally different refurbished unit instead of the Unit I originally sent them, so now I have to get everything set back up:gaah:
But am working on it

Still at home working on the Garmin

Maybe this trip isn't gonna happen:(

It's a lil after 4pm now, & I'm still working on downloading the map updates to the new GPS. Saying 30 more minutes remaining:popcorn: guess I shouldn't complain, as it started out saying aproximate download time of 43 hours :yikes:

But even after I get the unit updated, I still have to work on get'n the thing mounted on TEDDYS :spyder2: as it was mounted on the old dash that we didn't use when we just updated the new dash:gaah:

If I can get everything up & running & installed on the :spyder2: then we could still head out tonight, tho It will be a much quicker trip as we've gotta be back by Saturday :lecturef_smilie: so we'll see how this all plays out:dontknow:

Passing close by

We live right off Rte. 67 in Oxford (by Southford Falls), just after you take exit 15 on I84 in Southbury CT. I'll probably be working but if you need anything please call me. Have a safe trip!

BTW, when you exit I84 in Southbury, go all the way to the light and take a right onto Rte 67. There is actually a right turn midway off the exit ramp that "gets" all the non-locals.
