• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tease- new panel for faster oil changes

Okay--- so they removed the mounting tabs and it fits by pressure except in the front?

Does this allow it to pop on and off without messing with above side panel then?

Cool.

Looks like a pair of axes to mount on the side of the bike. Getting ready for the zombie apocalypse!!! You could ride thru a bunch of zombies and cut their legs off:roflblack:

That's pretty much how it works. You'll pop off the side panel, remove the bottom air deflector, loosen the new bolts on the black bottom panel and slid it out. No upper panels will need to be removed. :doorag:

:2thumbs: That's what I was thinking when I saw it.

 I've got to admit that the "Zombie Apocalypse" explanation sounds better...
But yours makes more sense! Thanks!

Funny thing is,

Was at the dealer the other day, They were clueless on this of course. No telling when they will have them. I'm pretty sure when
it comes to the Spyder its us (Spyder ownes) that educates them.
I think Cowtown will be the next dealership that gets my trade in business. Damn Shame more aren't like them.:banghead:

Was at the dealer yesterday for a small oil leak seems the oil pressure sensor was leaking. Asked them about the new pannel and the new maintence schedule and they did not have a clue but then again they did't have a clue about the brake pin either. It wouldn't be to bad if they weren't so far away. You would think that BPR would educate and inform these guys when they come out with this stuff. They made me feel like I was blowing smoke up their skirt and I didn't know what I was talking about. Bad thing is when they finally do get a clue I have to reschedule a appointment which is usually a week or so and another 4 or 5 hour round trip.

So is this something that we will have to buy or will it just be shipped to dealerships and they will install when we change the oil like the filters???

Couldn't hurt to call them first then, yes?

My dealer didn't know about it until they looked it up on their PC while I was talking about it yesterday. The dealers have been notified by BRP, it's just that many dealers haven't read their mail (or email) or notices in BUDS or however they do it...

Some more info I was able to gather.

1. When maintenance done by dealer, panels are automatically free of charges for consumer. If maintenance done by consumer, it is dealer's prerogative to decide if panels will be charged or not. Please note that BRP does not have control over dealer's decision to charge for panels or not.

2. Dealers don't have panels in stock, therefore it is very important to contact dealer to order panels prior to show up to dealership. Don't forget to mention that you will do the change of panels yourself. Also, reinforce that the new panels should be install at the next maintenance.

3. In terms of availability of panels at the dealership, be aware that dealer may decide to prioritize customers that will perform their maintenance at dealership.

4. 1 voucher per unit. If not installed properly or damaged during installation, it won't be replaced free of charges and/or not be covered under Warranty.

Put mine on today, not that hard to install. The time consuming part was taking all the panels off to remove the old one. It's going to be a lot faster to change oil and filters.

Question about panel. I just got a RT and were do you get the voucher for the panel?

David

that seems to be the million dollar question:banghead:

some people got them, others didnt

some dealers want them, others dont

consistency is not in the house.....

So what is the part number?

Okay, what is the part number and can I order myself or does dealer have to?
