There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First, you can go into your profile and check for your own posts. A few times, I have had to search out old posts I started to update the information and that is the easiest way if you have forgotten how you worded the TOPIC.
I don't have the Ipad mini, but I do have the Ipad AIR (and before that the Ipad 3rd Gen).
In my humble opinion, if you can view a website using Tapatalk, it is much better. Sites that conform to Tapatalk display better on your gadget. HOWEVER, SOMETIMES YOU LOOSE SOME FUNCTIONALITY THE WEBSITE OFFERS. Right now I am on my computer and there can be differences between using this browser and Tapatalk. You will have to experiment to see which you prefer.
Also, I will tell you this --- When you visit a website (this one and many others) that are Tapatalk compatible, they detect you are visiting using a mobile device (and a standard browser) and you get an annoying message asking you if you want to view in Tapatalk and/or download the APP EVERYTIME YOU VISIT so you have to always answer the question. If someone knows how to turn that off, please post here!
Personally, I recommend Tapatalk.
Another note: Fat fingers on a mobile device (plus auto-correction, etc.) is the reason you sometimes see some weirdly worded postings on here I suspect along with the misspellings. I purchased a stylus for mobile devices (actually an 6-pack) for around $9 on AMAZON. Far fewer mistakes.

I like being able to click on WHAT'S NEW? to get me to the latest/greatest postings.
One thing I miss using Tapatalk is not EVERY FEATURE of the FORUM is available. PLEASE, IF I AM WRONG ABOUT THIS - SET ME STRAIGHT!
For example, at the top of the page (I am using my computer browser right now) I can click on WHAT'S NEW? I don't see that choice using Tapatalk.

I forgot that as an EXCELLENT reason to utilize Tapatalk. Those darn emoticons aren't available! I HATE THEM - mostly because they are overused - not the occasional one.

If What's New isn't available on tapatalk I don't see any point in using it. I always go to What's New first. And I like my :2thumbs::joke::doorag::spyder2::yikes:

For the "whats new" for the forum just go to "unread" and it will refresh with the posts that have been updated. Mine always gies to "whats new". Tapatalk is very nice and a quick way to read info feom SL.
