• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tall Riders Must Read

Spyder riders over 6 feet tall do you feel a little cramped and wish you had that little extra room but didn't want to spend almost 2 weeks down trying to get the seat modded or the $500-600 to do it.. Well guess what I have found the solution..

I hate to do this but I am so excited I couldn't wait until this weekend to post. My son has my camera away this week at football camp but as soon as I get me camera back I wil;l have pictures.

The upholstry shop that I use locally was able to move the riding position back about 4 inches and up 2 inches and made it perfect.. BTW I am 6'4'' tall and both me and my brother needed the extra room to be comfortable..

Here is the great news. Anybody looking to get their seat done I will be able to help at a reasonble cost of $350 (including shipping US lower 48)on exchange or $500 buying outright. Trust after you see and feel this seat it will be the best $325 you will ever spend for comfort. I ordered the highway pegs and now won't need them and that was over $200 to help stretch out but did nothing for seating position comfort..

She will be able to move that seat from 2-4 inches back and 1- 2 1/2 inches up.. The best thing is on an exhange basis there is no down time.. On exchange pay $500 and when we get your stock seat back we will refund the $150 the same day. The best way for payment will be paypal because we can refund the core deposit the same day with no wait time or cost. If you want to send your own seat there will be a 5 day turn-around time which is still not bad.

You will have the choice of standard black vinyl for the base price or $30 extra can get you colored or cabon vinyl. Leather will be an option but pricing got expensive but let me know and I will get you a price (estimate $200 more)..

Sorry for the long read but the pictures will let you know there is an option for us tall guys.. I love Corbin but for tall guys they are not rider friendly...

Since I am 6'4", this might be an option for me later on. When my Spyder arrives, I'll have to make do - at least for awhile.

My main question is; how will this modified seat affect a passenger? Or is it a concern?

Thanks!

My question is are they switching out the foam or just shaving it down. For simply shaving the foam down the price seems a bit high. I've come across other seat designers whose sole occupation is modifying seat and for that kind of price they'll work with my height and weight to position if for me and do gel inserts.

Not to be a downer, I'm just curious as to what their process is and if yours if the first seat they've done. If it's just shaving some foam I've done that on my own in the past with plenty of success.

I have just the opposite problem. When I'm sitting comfortably, my butt is 1" short of the seat rise. I'm 5'10" and I like sitting straight up (helps the back), and I don't need to shift forward for turning. The highway pegs I have are perfect for me as they are. I just don't want to give up my seat pan for 5 weeks (Russell Day-Long).:banghead:

How about a phone number and email to get some questions answered. Like are we dealing with the company direct that is doing this or are you the middle man? What is their address, phone number, etc. Any warranty? Does this seat still allow for a passenger? If so does it alter the passenger seat at all? Anxiously awaiting reply.

Hey dbnc. I've been wondering where you've been. Now I see you've been out trying to start a Spyder seat business. :D For a second, I thought you crashed :yikes: your brother's new Spyder and were ashamed to give us THAT report. :D :joke:
:spyder: Your Spyder must be on the way very soon.

Glad to see you back and glad you found a solution to your seating problem. For me, also 6'4" tall, the seating position is fine. It probably could be better, but it hasn't been anything worse than just moderately uncomfortable after 4 or more hours in the saddle. I rode about 12 hours one day and it wasn't like sitting in my La-Z-Boy but it was bearable.
