• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tail of the dragon?

Hellbender, US 28, goes from Franklin all the way to the start of the Dragon. Great road, 54 miles long with tight areas, sweepers and little traffic.
Wayah road is great, starting at Loafers Glory
WarWoman road in NC, near Franklin is also a good ride. 64 up from Franklin to Highland is good for sightseeing too.

(Taking notes about all of these great roads for when my chance comes to go looking for them!)

That is what I had hoped to hear! Thank you all for your responses! I can't wait to get up that way. I hear the roads are great all over the area!

Yeah, lots of great roads. If you are doing the Dragon on a weekend, expect to be passed on left-hand curves and the occasional straight stretch. The riders are pretty skilled but cannot always control their enthusiasm...and an occasional fool will get inserted into the mix! Don't get intimidated by sport bikers climbing your tail and riding in a manner that you would wouldn't otherwise ride. Final suggestion, ride it on a Thursday or other weekday if you want the pressure lifted for a first-timer.

Not looking to good for this trip. The weather is saying rain and cold. We may have to head another direction and postpone this Ryde for a warmer drier date.

I agree with 209 (The Rattler). I like it better than the Dragon. 290 curves in 24 miles. Flats to ease up on and relax before the next set of turns. Observation points, nice sceanery. Quite a bit of the run follows a river. Some nice country stores to get a cold drink.
