• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

greetings,

i installed a tackform mount. it works great, but i would like to move it closer to the handlebar clamp. i need a shorter bolt than came with the mount.

this is the bolt i would like shorter. i would cut down the sleeve.

the bolt that the mount replaced is this:

my questions are:

-is there anything special about this bolt?
-do i have to get a specific grade?
-can i buy this in various lengths at the hardware store or do i need to order from a specialty fastener vendor?

thank you for your help now and in the past.

its a stainless steel, low head cap screw(original). don't need the low head. do need the rust proof kind. lowes, ace hardware, etc. its a MM screw as all are MM. you have fine thread and course thread in same sizes. just take your bolt, and match up size and get the length you want

Thin Socket Screw, Scotch Grip, M10 .. Got this on the parts site but does not give the Grade.

Grade 8 and above I would guess.

If that is an F3 you should be able to cut the sleeve and use same bolt . The threads go thru the mount. Doesn't bottom out or interfere with steering. I did mine.
