Hi All,

Does anyone know if there are any issues moving the trailer hitch from a 2013 to a 2014 RT? :dontknow: With all the changes made to the 2014, just curious if any of those changes affect swapping the hitch. Thanks,

Ron

i don't think you will have any problem, should work fine.

I swapped my hitch from a 2010 to a 2013 and it was no problem. I plan to swap one from a 2012 to my 2014 and don't anticipate any problems with that either.

The swingarm hasn't changed; the hitch was fit...
Although your dealings with the "electrical side" of the equation, might need some "adjustments".

Trailer Hitch Fit

On page 72 of the 2014 accessories catalog it has the hitch fitting 2014 and prior, I'm hoping there is not issues because
I'm taking the one from my 11 to put on my 14 when I get it.

Thanks Bob,
I looked at page 72. It mentions the trailer, but not the hitch. On page 74 it shows the hitch which 'looks' an awful lot like the previous hitch. The ad goes on to say 2014 and prior. Which one would Presume as opposed to Assume that they are the same.
But the real question is, "Is the back of the '14 the same setup as the '13?"

Trailer lights plug

Is the trailer lights plug the same? :dontknow:
If so; then it is.

Bob,
My trailer has the 9 pin setup. I would guess the service dept. would be able to figure that one out. Although the trailer has separate brake, turn, and backup lights, -- the brake, turn, and tail lights are all incorporated in the red lenses. (The trailer lighting module)

Replace the existing trailer connector with a square-4, or splice in a square-4 to use the 2010/2012 trailers with the later trailer hitch/harness. The 2010 trailer has separate turn signals, but can be wired as 4-wire to combine brake & turn in the red lens. The 2011 and newer trailers are all 4-wire, despite the 9-pin connector and blank areas of the lenses.

I use the trailer hitch to mount my flag pole and used the light cord to light up my USA flag when we do night escorts. It looks good and is the right thing to do if you flag a flag at night.;)
