Bah Hum Bug... a story
Well it will be most interesting as to what all think of this story.
On Dec 5, about 11:00 PM I receivied a call and was informed that the Ft Myers Spyder gathering has reached approx 500 spyders, all over the state, GA, and AL. Seemed high to me but what the heck I am a bit slow, especially at 11:00 PM..
this party stated that there was music, breakfast, lunch drinks, police escort etc for a rally of that size I believed.
I asked the calling party for the address and telephone number and it, the address, confirmed with the invatation. However, the phone number was not given in the invitation but, it is correct 239-275-5535. Called it and got their answer machine. So I guess it is a valid call that I received at 11:00 PM.
So, I put on my biker clothes, the Morning of the 6th of december, got a late start as I overslelpt, and headed to Ft Myers, arriving approx 11:45 am. Upon my arrival I asked where the spyders were and was told they had already left for a run and would return 12:30 ..1:00 Pm.
I then waited and guess WHAT......???????
Three spyders, one of which was an emplyee, golly, had I got there on time I would have made Four.
Party, music, food... bah hum bug.. they put on a hamburger hotdog fry almost every Sat as told to me by an employee and It was not a sponsored, or approved gathering by BRP.
I was asked would I attend more functions? Can you guess my answer??
One thing, I did have a good ride, going to Ft Myers, as I took what they call the shortest route, but not neccessarly the fastest, but good road just the same, only problem many stop signs and restrictive speed limits of 35, 45, 55, and 60.. well 55 and 60 weren't too bad and where it was posted of 65 that was also good as the traffic did move within 10 miles of the speed limit excepting the ones less than 50.
All you spyder peeps have a grand Xmas and safe rides.
