• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Survey Question/Riding Habits

10% solo, 10% with groups, 80% with Hubby riding his own. We have never gotten headsets because he says he can hear me perfectly well.. something about reading lips and fingers...

Hey glynnk, we rode up to 249 and Grant this morning. Brrrrr!!! Dropped Hubbies bike off for a top end job. At noon, there was still ice in the parking lot. Did I tell you it was colder than a brass toidy seat on the shady side of an ice burg???
LOL.....yeah, I did a little riding myself this afternoon...not too bad. I need to get together with you guys. Y'all up for lunch someplace tomorrow? Hopefully, it should be a tad warmer.

95% alone, 5% with pals around the area, lkooking forward to a road trip with a buddy or two next year when the 2 wheel folks get back on the road.

The best thing about 3 wheels is being able to ride in the cold and slippery conditions around here in winter. If I was to put the Can Am away for winter I would have to just go back to two wheels- cheaper, faster, better handling, but not nearly so versatile and able to handle adverse conditions.

One reason I don't ride a lot with others is that I can't stand loud pipes. I won't ride behind them so I generally avoid the club scene.

99% solo. This is my first bike so I don't have an established network of biker friends. I'm also socially challenged.

I ride about 90% with a group, usually the ride leader. It is a small group of around 6 bikes usually. The rest is solo for commuting or errands. Since I am new to the spyder, I am looking forward to seeing how it holds up with the group. The rest ride FZ1's, VFR, FJR and the like.

I dislike riding with a group because even with the Hindle exhaust some of the Harleys are so loud you can't even tell your engine is running however you will know when you go to start it :sour:

Some time ago I had joined the local chapter of the Blue Knights, but didn't stay around very long when it became obvious that they frown on any other ride if not a HD.

Sorry I missed your post. Maybe we could meet up for lunch next weekend at J.B.'s Steakhouse?

95% solo, the other 5% would include poker runs and benefits. Plus, a buddy and I take our annual bike trip up to Wisconsin every year for 4-5 days.

He was pretty surprised when I showed up at our meeting spot on the Spyder this year! :ohyea:

before RT - alone during week - 2 up all wwekends and holidays

after RT we ride seperatly-together
she on RT me on RS - 25% of time with Aquaspyder, rest by ourselves/together

occassionally with others

90% solo, 8% with my son and his Boulevard ( but he doesn't like my long rides), 2% with my wife, who, of course is the reason I got the Spyder.

Only been on a few group rides. Depends on the company. As my handle implies, I like to remain below the radar...

Daily to work and usually 1 time a month the 3 Spyderteers get together for a ryde. Have had as many as 7 spyders in a group.

70% solo, 20% with wife and the other 10% with other riders.

Hard to find other Charlotte area spyders who want to ride, much less this time of year. Spyder in garage taken apart anyway for some mods.

Curious to know how many of us do most of our riding in groups or solo? Given the absolutely ridiculous weather we're having in Houston (low teens and highs below freezing for the next couple of days), didn't have anything better to do than come up with this question. I've started the Spyder in the garage enough tonight!

In my case, I do most of my riding with my Southern Cruisers chapter, 90% of the time and take solo rides 10% of the time. How bout everybody else?

Glynnk

Solo most of the time and with 1 or 2 other friends. I'm often running errands and with gas climbing it's cheaper than my Z71. But not in this latest global warming deep freeze.

I ride solo or two-up, my bike alone, at least 80% of the time. My wife and I spend another 15% or more riding together on separate machines. No more than 5% with a rider other than my wife, or in groups, mostly with our BMW club. My Mom said I was socially retarded. :D

You are not socially retarded however you are a wolfpack of 1 sometimes 2. :roflblack::roflblack:

For the last year and a half that I've had the Spyder, I've ridden to work almost every day exception being torrential downpours or our recent spat of unseasonable cold weather when I wimp out and drive my truck. Unfortunately, I only live 4 miles from work so I've only put about 4,500 miles on her so far.

On weekends I like to get my wife out with me in the Texas Hill Country but with two jobs that eat our brains and her back in college, we've not done that too often lately.

We did meet up with a group of South Texas Spyder Ryders from San Antonio and Houston and got together which was a ton of fun. I really loved seeing around 8 Spyders all together and will look forward to more get togethers this year. I like the informal let's go to town X and have lunch and take the scenic route back rather than the formal obligation of an organized club where you have to show up.

I also ride with my two wheeled buddies when I get the chance. I love it when we get stopped and some says "Nice bike" and my Ninja buddy knows the comment is for the Sypder and not his pretty bike :D

So, about 90% solo (to work and back), 5% two up with the wife and 5% with groups.
