• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Survey Question/Riding Habits

Curious to know how many of us do most of our riding in groups or solo? Given the absolutely ridiculous weather we're having in Houston (low teens and highs below freezing for the next couple of days), didn't have anything better to do than come up with this question. I've started the Spyder in the garage enough tonight!

In my case, I do most of my riding with my Southern Cruisers chapter, 90% of the time and take solo rides 10% of the time. How bout everybody else?

I usually ryde with my wife and 1 or 2 others. I should probably start looking into joining a club somewhere.

I ride solo or two-up, my bike alone, at least 80% of the time. My wife and I spend another 15% or more riding together on separate machines. No more than 5% with a rider other than my wife, or in groups, mostly with our BMW club. My Mom said I was socially retarded. :D

About the same as Scotty... 75% of the time we ride solo (2-up on the Spyder)

The rest is split about 5% group (2-up on the Spyder), 5% group (one up on the Spyder and hubby on the Nighthawk), and the other 15% I ride solo on the Spyder by myself either alone or with my husband on the Nighthawk and me on the Spyder.

Normally ride to work or along with the wife on her Spyder. Am interested in joing a local club if anyone if anyone knows of one here in the tri-cities.

I ride about 50/50, I am ridng by myself to work or to meet people to ride with, also on long trips for coaching paintball is usually by myself.

My rides with others is loosely termed we are going to place together but I am a firm believer in "ride your own bike" theory and I ride "faster" than most people I go with and I will ride with anyone.

I'd love to join a riding club but all I know of around here are Harley clubs and you know they won't let you join unless it's an HD and I'd rather push a Honda than ride a Harley... okay, maybe not that harsh, but you know....

I would say 90% of my riding is solo. I enjoyed riding down to Los Angeles with my wife as a passenger and we rode with SloRyder and Jim Crow from Paso Robles to the LA Event.

Rode with 3000 other folks and pzim from this site in the Walt Gray ride for kids in Sacramento, CA. That was fun but I would rather ride in a group of less than 5. But most of my time is solo riding time. Gives me a chance to clear out the :cus: and ease all the tensions that can come with the weekly grind.

I ride solo just me talking to the inside of my helmet.
I don't ride in groups, that way i can control my own destiny.
Many years ago i was in a group ride got scared half to death
can't let that happen twice .;)

Probably 80% of the time I'm 2-up with my wife. We usually take one ride a year with a BMW group of 10 - 12 bikes. Hope they will still let us ride with them after we get the Spyder RT. Maybe 5% of the time, we ride with one other bike, usually our son or a close friend. I do like the ride through the Texas hill country with the BMW group but, other than that, I avoid groups.

pretty much always just me. Although biggest brother & I do manage to ride together once in awhile. Now that I have the spyder if I want company all I have to do is stop somewhere & i'm surrounded ;)

I'm looking to own a Spyder soon and selling my current motorcycle. On it I ride solo 90% of the time and 10% with small groups between 3-6.

Cheers.

I ride about 95% solo. The other 5% breaks down to this: about 3% with a friend who has a Gold Wing, and 2% with my wife. I'd love to have her ride with me all the time but, you see, she's the omni present-eternal-perpetual-extrapolated-built in babysitter for our Grandchildren. My Daughter is a full time baby manufacturer!!!!!

PS: I'm riding totally solo during this Winter as my Gold Wing friend put his bike into hibernation. Oh well.....where to ride today?
