• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sunshine Drag Strip (1/8th Mile Track)

More speed, more acceleration!

Has anyone figured out how to get around the computer and make the spyder really fly? I mean we got a 200 MPH speedo and can only get to 107 before being cut off. This same motor is in the sea-doo and it really screams, I want the same. Any suggestions?:banghead:

Sorry, close but no cigar... you have a 200 kilometer per hour speedo... which equates to about 126 miles per hour.

Poway? I lived there in the mid-90's. Nice place... "country" in the city.
Both of my ex-houses burned to the ground... after I left... in the big, early 21st century fires... don't remember the name for them.

Welcome aboard!

Where did you hear this? :hun:

The Sea-Doos have a inline 3 cylinder 1500cc supercharged 215hp or 255hp engine. I should know I own 2 of them.

Even the non-supergharged Sea-Doo engines are 3 cylinder 1500cc, 130hp or 155hp engines.

Spyders only have a 998cc V-Twin at about 106 hp.

ATADUDE U ARE WRONG, JMilligan IS RIGHT WE HAVE A 200 MPH SPEDO.

Okay, but you'll never reach anything over 130'ish with the Spyder set for MPH. Set your dash for KMH and you'll easily be hitting 130KMH and have a good chance at getting 200 KMH.

Technically, yes, but if you switch to kilometers it reads on the same scale. The speedo was therefore designed to read 200 kph, and the excess when switched to US units is just an artifact of the technology. What we have here is an oddity, an analog gauge that is digitally driven. Saves having two scales, but gets real optimistic if you use English units.

If you say so.... playing with the semantics. :dontknow:

How about this:

The speedometer reads to 200 to accommodate kilometers per hour for countries where the metric system is used. 200 kilometers per hour equates to approximately 126 miles per hour. It's also a good talking point to impress the members of the general public... who don't know better... particularly the early teens.

Potato potato

Regardless of the speedo and my obvious lack of information on a sea-doo, has any one figured out how to get more HORSEPOWER? I am saving my nickels for new exhaust, but aside from that I have not seen any engine mods yet. I love the conversations on this site. let me know.

1/8 mile results:

R/T: .671
60' : 2.133
330: 3.584
1/8: 6.577
MPH: 81.06

Based on the 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile conversion table, 6.577 = 10.22-10.30

I heard that the Spyder computer is the same as the programing in the BMW autos. Can anyone check this out?

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but sounds like "happy" clocks to me. Required horsepower at the flywheel to turn this kind of ET is over 170 hp! This mph calculates out to something more like a mid-eights ET, which would be about what previously reported 1/4 mile times would have translated to. Something doesn't jive!
