• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sun Visor for my Zumo

VISOR

Even at 100% brightness my Zumo is hard to see in the daytime. After Buying a drone I found that sun visors for the Ipad are very popular. I wondered what is available for our Zumo 660. I found this one and ordered it on Amazon. Got it today. Looks vedy vedy NICE :firstplace:

Very nice ...........and I made one just like it from the glossy cardboard they use for DIVIDERS in filing cabinets .....spray painted it black ....... Mike

I made one just like it, but it didn't help much. The brightness on the 660 is just not bright enough and gets washed out by the ambient sunlight.

Depends where you zumo is mounted for one. Visor may help some- you need more of a tunnel type visor . It will be still hard to see at times

Custom made maybe the way to go. It will not be like you are in your car looking at the GPS

I have not got a chance to use it yet but in the comments, some say that there are still some angles where the sun is still a problem. You can still tilt the Garmin toward you to get more of the angle you need. This one was the only one I saw that gave a fairly deep tunnel. Also it is made to where you can still access the on off button and the button to remove the garmin the same a before.

I thought about trying to make one also but figured I may be able to find something already made. I don't know why more vendors here haven't picked up on the need for one and made one. It looks like something so simple to make and refine for our needs. Hint Hint I see one soon with a Lamonster logo on it or a simple web design on the top.:spyder2:

:agree: with our assessment 100%. I have the same one, which is also the one shown in the OP. It helps, and it's certainly better than nothing. And it does look nice. But like GA_Spyderman said, I just wish I could turn up the brightness a lot of the time.

You all that have been using one, does the Garmin automatically turn down the brightness when it gets under the shade thinking its night time or shady?

Honestly never really paid attention, i just listen to the audio commands. & am usually stopped in the shade if i am programing a destination or something.
