• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Suggestions for next year

I vote for MV as well, I would prefer it be moved to the fall though. The colors would be awesome and the weather even awsomer.

late September or early October in MV is awesome.

event t-shirts are a MUST !!!

Hats off to BRP ...the owner event was a great success. I felt so bad for the band...after the BIG GIVE AWAY most everyone walked off. Not southern hospitality. I understand everyone had to get back on the road so I vote for having the entertainment on Friday night. The dinner was a huge success... the catering company did a fabulous job... Everything was top notch. The competition needed to be a little more orderly. The category "SHOW AND SHINE" factory out of the box.....well that was blown totally out of wack. No way for owner to compete with the MODS. Wasn't fair at all. Would like to see more attention given to that part of the event being that it was the main attraction. Just give everyone a chance to show off their Spyder with pride.
Would like to see more techs and maybe a few "sign up classes" with a tech to teach the basics... charge if you have to... I would pay.
More vendors...lets face it if you need something for your Spyder...you are gonna find it. Event T-Shirts would be a nice addition.
This was our first event and we had a blast. We met so many nice people. One other thing about Maggie Valley...if the Event goes back I feel we should all support Maggie Valley business owners...the local motels need the business. Why have the event in MV and suggest staying in cherokee????:dontknow: We stayed at a local mom & pop motel and the service couldn't have been better. Very clean.
Thanks BRP for giving us the opportunity to all meet together.
You asked my opinion...and I shoot from the hips" Honesty is the best policy. Looking forward to next year...:bowdown:Chaz I hope you read this! ~Kay

Bruiser I agree with your suggestions. It would have been nice to have registration earlier on Friday and maybe a little more to see at the festival grounds. The band playing on Friday night makes more sense as most of us were heading out early on Sunday and didn't stay there very late.

We didn't go to Wheels Through Time because we went last year but we may have gone if it was available on Friday. Maybe if we had a ticket that could be used one time either Friday or Saturday.

Passport rides like Spyderfest would be fun also.

I know I would have showed up no matter what they had planned any excuse to ride and visit with friends is enough for me.
The information on Wheels seemed to say, only one day. Not true, I went on Wed and went in free and invited back.

I read al the posts on this. Agree east/west locations. Some place designed to plan/show up for rides. Local people maybe ? ( not road Captians, just guides, ride your ride).
Vendor stuff is a mess. Some say it was BRP, others said, it was a city law. Possible idea, Set up outside Maggie Valley limits ???I agree other vendors are needed. I know, the instruction says, it takes ten minutes to install at home, but ????????? Probably the more vendors, the more people show up. I have been to other events that have had vendors in Maggie Valley. One thing, I would suggest for policy, signs stating BRP ( in this case) not responsible for other vendors. Honda in Marysville, Ohio got in that mess. Moved vendors off Honda property.
Another idea, Tourist group, have a list of rides/directions out in the area, with different lenghts. Marlington, WV has such a information sheets.
One more thought on the band, beside moving night. I am old and hard of hearing, but they were loud.

Overall, loved the whole thing. Thanks BRP and our BBQ host.

:agree:I totally agree with Lamont. A rally in the west would go a long way to marketing the Spyder brand west of the Mississippi. Prescott AZ. is a beautiful place and their are some great rides there. Also, a great CanAm dealer is there and Phoenix is less than 80 miles away. Hope BRP considers it.

I agree with trip to west and to Prescott, AZ. I already have a small group that will ride to there next year if BRP doesn't hold an event in the west

My suggestion for an area for next years owner event would be the Black Hills of South Dakota area (not Sturgis), but maybe have Deadwood as the pivot point for several great rides, plenty of motels, restaurants, camping. That being said, it would have to be any other time than August!
