• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have unfortunately missed all the Spyder events this year. :( Spyderfest got interrupted by work and now I have pneumonia so Durango is out! I always make Sturgis though! Don't care if I have to call in sick for two weeks or go on a stretcher :roflblack::roflblack:

Is any other Spyder riders going this year? I will be there for two weeks and would love to maybe hook up for a ride or even meet in deadwood or such for lunch one day :ohyea:

That's too bad that you'll miss Durango. I would think that there will be more than a few Spyderlovers going to Sturgis. If you keep checking back here as it gets closer I'm sure you'll find somebody who you can meet up with. Good luck and I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks! I get a check up today and hopefully it's starting to get better. I'm sure like you said a few spyders will be in Sturgis. :D

Have never been to Sturgis.
Got invited by a few friends of mine and just got the thumbs up from mama last night.
Should be an adventure !!! :-)
Any good suggestions on what to bring or what I have to make sure I bring ??

Just back from Sturgis

Wife and I just got back from Sturgis. Home base was Hill City and we rode all the scenic roads in the Black Hills from there. What a great place to ride. So many great roads, sites and things to do. Motorcycles were everywhere and it wasn't even Sturgis weekend. We did Sturgis, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Spearfish and Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, Deadwood, Custer City, Iron Mountain Rd., Vanooker Canyon Rd., Crazy Horse, Needles H/W, Sylvan Lake, Deerfield Lake, Johnson Siding, Jewel Cave, South Dakota State Railroad Museum and some really cool Pigtail Bridges and one lane tunnels. Got to go back there some day. Probably one of the best rides I have ever made and I have been everywhere in the west on two wheels. Spoke to a lot of people about the RT Limited. Lots of looks and people asking questions and wanting to sit on her.

Lots of $$$! An extra SD card for your camera and don't forget the chargers!! We were just out there on our way home from Durango and they are already working on stores and observation decks. They even have 2012 Sturgis t-shirts for sale! We'll have to talk at our next ride Tommy.

If your a first timer. Make sure you pack for any weather imaginable. I have been rained on, snowed on, hailed on. And so hot I thought I was gonna cook. Other than that. Just come for fun and riding. Don't judge and you will be fine. Have a great time.
