• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stuck in Reverse!

Now that your starting issue has been resolved,
I'd like to take the time to say :welcome::welcome:

I saw that you posted in Chat yesterday, I wasn't around
when you did. So I clicked on your name to see if you had
gotten assistance, and came across this thread. I remember
my first ride home from the dealership I stopped to put gas
in the tank and I couldn't get the bike to restart.:helpsmilie:, I tried
like 7 different things and what ever I did, it eventually worked.
Wasn't the bike just my learning curve :D Too many new gadgets
and things to learn. I eventually got into a great habit, and thought
maybe I should write down what I do each time when I get on and
off the bike as to help myself and others not lock the key in the trunk
or remember I have enough fuel where I am heading, or to remember
to put the bike in trailer mode when pulling the RT622, etc. Nah, I
scrapped that idea, thinking that it would just diminish the adventure
associated with not knowing

Look forward to meeting you at SpyderFest

SE5

About the last 6 months my 09 SE5 has been locked in first after I had turned it off in gear, the engine will start and run but when you try to accelerate the engine will bog and chug and die. It was stuck in reverse one time like this, dealer said it showed a code and said it meant it was in the wrong gear or something to that effect. My service manager solution was to not park in gear. LOL I don't trust that rear brake that much, it comes lose to easy and I've had to catch her a couple times.:spyder2:

I start my se5 in gear all the time, like someone else said, just need to have the brake on. I don't leave her in reverse, because I have heard that the reverse lights may stay on after shutdown and drain the battery. So I back it into place, shift into first, and kill the power.

Just had this problem today! Got to looking for solutions and ya'll had it right here. Have had our 2011 RT SE5 Limited since April 2011 and this was the first time it got stuck in reverse. I have an excuse, though or at least I'll claim it as suck. Been wearing a collar on my neck after surgery for a couple of months and had what we suspect as a mini stroke a month earlier. Hope to get back to riding again regularly real soon. This place is a wealth of knowledge!:bowdown:
