Well, this old reitred accountant just installed the mirror extensions. Comments are for those thinking about it. I read somewhere that someone installed them in an hour. Well, I installed the first one in just under an hour and the second one in 15 minutes.
In the box is a plastic sleeve with 4 washers in it that are not referred to at all in the instructions. It took an email (unanswered) and 2 phone calls to find out that they are just there in case you need some shimming somewhere in the install. I never did see where they could go if you were to use them.
I did the cut and spice method and it worked fine for me.
With everything tightened down, I don't think there is any movement. Getting the "nibs" line up with the indentations in the bracket is a little difficult but once done and with a good grip on the two parts while screwing in the torx bolt, they will stay lined up.
After sitting on the Spyder, the mirrors are definitely "up and out" - I think they will really help. Will take a ride later today to check them out.
Be sure you check out the post below by ArmyJoe (I think) which has pictures of his installation. His comments and pictures really helped.
Now what's the next project????
