• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Strange noise

I have been hearing strange noises from the left side of my '10 RT lately. It sounds like castanets when starting forward at low speeds but can't hear it after 20 or so. There is also a vibration on my footboard. The sound is rhythmic like something is striking the spokes of the wheels or like if somebody puts a coin your in the hubcap of your car.

I jack up all three wheels which showed nothing unusual. With the rear wheel in the air I engage the tranny and no noises. The belt looks normal and looking down the belt line while the tire is spinning shows nothing unusual.

I'm at a loss as to whats going on. I haven't taken the plastic off yet. I will be taking the bike in maybe next week for its oil change but was wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this? Thanks

If you have paddle change (SE5) it may be a problem with the centrifugal clutch. Certainly worth
a look-see at your dealer.

Little checking..!!

while your down there check the torque on the output shaft where your engine sproket is. Also see if the bering is still tight..if all this renders nothing take her in..:gaah:I hate tracking down a annoying or worrisome sound...

I've been thinking about that rascal. There have been trouble with that shaft on other bikes. I will be taking the bike to the Pirate next week.

Turns out the noise was a .... rock in the rear pulley. But the belt apparently will need to be replaced. The master cylinder too. I've been pumping the brakes by habit and finally had them check it out. The service mgr says Western Service will cover the MC but not the belt. First time I've ever used Western Service. Are they a good company to work with?
