• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stranded on hwy transmission out

Sry guys on my phone and it's got a low battery. Limping it back home. Drove 90 miles with no issues then it started slipping again. Will type more when I get home. 100 miles to go. Brp said they r flying a technician down tomorrow. We will see. No error codes just slipping and Te rpms climb.

You said it corrected itself in the time it was enroute (being towed) to the dealers. That said something to me. Oil level....so, this is a shot in the dark....but let it set for 20 or 30 minutes then drive on. If it shows signs of slipping again. Stop and repeat shut down time. Again...just a hunch.

It seems like it drives fine for about an hr then it slips.

Based on what bluestratos said his problem was. You're likely having the same issue. If so. The above hunch should get you home without tearing anything up. Run 50 miles and if it has not acted up. Stop anyway....give it some time and go again.

just MHO

Brp called me. A technician is flying from Canada and looking at my bike. Promising

:thumbup: for BRP response. :yikes:nojoke:banghead: on that dealers response. Continue to share thanks..sucks that the dealer isn't into "making a happy customer" mode. :lecturef_smilie:

I hope you get a quick fix and its just a minor flaw . I can't believe you still bought product from the dealer that just blew you off.:dontknow:

Did you check the oil level?

Providing the oil level Is within an acceptable range. The problem he appears to be having is much the same as what bluestratos had. That being oil bleed down from the clutch tranny area. Likely caused by oil vescosity change at higher sustained operating tempratures and heating of a deffective seal, which then allows the oil to bleed from that area. Uneducated guess it is.

Well I'm stranded. Waiting on a tow truck. Says E flashing and the engine light came on. Guess we will see tomorrow. About got rear ended coasting to the dirt on the side of the road.

Oil is hard to see. Looks fine. Towing is $371. 98 miles from the dealer so the tow truck has to drive 196 miles. BRP covers $200 so I'm out 171. Brp technician/Danny from brp will be at the dealer Wednesday morning. Fault code says E where the gear selector is and the R and N are flashing and the engine light is on.

Apparently brp doesn't provide roadside assistance. Out $150for the tow. Dealer car look at it till tomorrow. It slipped a little coming up here. Thought it was the cruise. Then it got worse. Reverse works fine. So pissed. 2nd issue with this bike. Just hit 308 miles.
Did you get the B.E.S.T Warranty, when you bought your 14rts? Also, did you check with your motorcycle insurance company to see if they offer any towing?

Also, do you have AAA?

I have GEICO Insurance on my spyder , with f
ull coverage + Towing & Labor. My spyder is a 2012RTS-SE5. Deanna777

I have my card for Emergency Roadside Assistance (Can Am roadsters only) 1-866-477-1415....hope that helps.

Best luck with your RT...keep us updated on what caused it....I have zero miles on mine due to the weather and it's always good to get info. on any issue that comes up.

Hope all turns out fine....
:agree: Also, keep an extra copy of your Emergency Roadside Assistance ( Can Am Roadsters Only ) in your wallet. Just in case. Deanna777

SORRY TO HEAR THIS. Hope they get it resolved in a timely manner. Not being able to look at a brand-new bike for one week sounds ridiculous.
:agree: Yea, I would be :cus:. I would be giving the Can-Am dealer my 2 cents worth. Deanna777

Gonna try and get it home. Stopping by gt and getting a glock 42. And then hopefully I'll get it home. This service folks at woods fun center are of no help! Technician wouldn't even speak to me! Sales were cool, got a riding jacket and scala rider g3x Bluetooth.
When I bought my 2012RTS-SE5 I did not get anything , not even a t-shirt, or a coffee mug. This is my 2 cents worth. Deanna777

IF this is the dealer where you bought your Spyder, it should be a priority, and move to the front of the line. They should take a look and try and determine not only what is wrong, but is it safe for you to drive it back home! If it is not the dealer where you bought it they should do everything they can to at least access the situation for you and as stated above, is it safe for you to try and get it home?
It is all about the dealers! I understand how the dealers can sometimes get overwhelmed with service but there is no excuse for not trying to help in a situation such as this. They have Got to take care of the customers!
:agree: Deanna777

And the customer response score is.

BRP 1

Dealer 0

End of dealer visit number one.

Dealer visit number two - wager

With BRP ahead in the customer service poll. The dealer will suddenly find time they previously didn't have and get their head in the game.

Note to dealer. There's a lesson to be learned here. One way of saying you got it would be to cover all costs incured by the owner.

Just wanted to let folks know that there may be some issues but not widespread.

This is starting to sound like 2013 all over again. Some people have the issues and others don't. Let's hope it stays that way and is NOT widespread. Let's hope they find a simple resolution to these problems and that BRP steps up and makes it right for those that don't have problems, but could be affected.

Everyone, keep a log

Good, bad, normal or extraordinary - keep a log. At the end of the year, we can share notes. The only easy way to make them better is to drive defects back to where they begin. I would love to end the year with nothing bad!

OK, I summed everything up in the first thread. Wednesday cant come fast enough. Other than the transmission being jacked up , the ride and everything else about the bike is simply amazing. love everything but the transmission issue.
