Scotty please re-wright this as I an not going to do well. :gaah:There is so much miss information being given between the 1330 and the 998 platforms. It seems few people read the original post or look to see what platform it was started from or intended to cover. Then a 998 person advises a 1330 person like it is a 998. Or the opposite. The scariest one is oil requirements, I be leave each has there own specifications. Advising the wrong product in the other platform may not be the thing to do. Enough said. :chat:

but we do in the most part ask that the OP specify the model and year. I go to the profile to find out but not all list their roadster. In my case if it is not specified I state for each unless it is a common to both item. You are right some have not made that distinction..at the moment there is only one model 2014 with the 1330 ACE power plant and three models with the 998. So do specify if it's an RS/RSS/ST/RT...jmo...:thumbup:

I have also seen some posts that owners of the new 1330's need to have there first service completed at 600 miles???? This info was relayed to them by there dealership. Will it hurt? NO! Is it necessary? No! Apparently there are some very misinformed dealers out there and that do not know what they are selling,or they are trying to sell maintenance that is not required. You need to do your research and read your owners manual.

You are absolutely correct. I don't see how someone else should be blamed for misinformation when the answer can be found in the owner's manual. IMO the owner should become familiar with what can be found in the owner's manual.

Also, like Chupaca said, some members ask questions and don't supply the year and model number of their spyder.

There is a lot of the above happening. Now that there are two different engines in the mix with separate information, it does seem prudent to double check which machine is the object of the question.

I have tried to be careful with my suggestions or answers, and if more information is needed am not afraid to ask for it.

A few are going to slip through though. Most of us have done it. :yes:
