• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am still waiting on the Red SM5 to get here....****sure is taking a long time too...

after reading the post lately seems to be alot of folks having issues and problems with the SE5's. I know the SE is a recent offering and with all new offering there is a work out the bug time that comes with the newnest. While some of the issues I know would be on either SE or SM some seem to be SE only...so here is my question for those of you that have an SM have all the intial bugs been worked out for the most part or is there as many issues with them as there seems to be with the SE? Please let me hear the good and the bad, want change my mind on getting her or make me regret that I ordered her just wanting to be prepared and know what to look for once she is here.

Also thanks to all of you that have put up with my many questions and giving me some great info and ideas...I promise I will try and not be as much of a pain in the future lol well at least until she gets here....

I've only had to minor problems with mine, neither of which did make the 70 mile trip to the dealer to fix.

I had a headlight relay go bad, bought a replacement at Autozone and was all fixed up.

I also had the right side exhaust gasket go bad, actually by the time I removed it, it had gone from bad to almost completely gone. Got a new one from the dealer and replaced myself.

Otherwise all is good.

I have a Silver SM5 that has 2500 mi. I got it in June 08 (couldn't ryde for 3 weeks d/t a surgery). Have had no issues with the :spyder: other than not having enough money to add all the accesories I want. About $4000 needed just for Seat, Saddlebags, Top Box, Risers, and Bilet Lights, But that will come down the road. I ryde the :spyder:to work everyday and on weekends the wife and I try a road trip around the area. Both have no issues and love the :spyder:. As soon as wife's car is paid off we plan on a 2nd :spyder: so she can drive on her own. Bought our :spyder:without ever test driving it. Will buy the SE5 for the wife when we get ready to purchase it.

1,700 miles since I took delivery on Sept. 27th. Nothing mechanical, really. It's been fantastic!

When going into Reverse a week ago, it was between gears. And, I got the 'E' code, and 'N' (neutral) at the same time. Turns out, that just happens sometimes to some of us. Since then, I have only noticed that once in reverse, as I let out the clutch, the 'R' indicator comes on, and all is normal. And, this happens rarely. 99% of the time, when I pull the 'R' lever forward, and push the gear selector (shifter) down, the 'R' indicator lights immediately.

That's it. :)

I've had mine for only 12 days but have had no problems at all (hope I don't jinx myself). Haven't regretted getting the :spyder:for a single second. Having too much fun!

The "bugs" have been worked out of the SM models. The SE's seem to be having a few teething problems. Any of them can have problems though if the dealer does not do the vehicle prep properly. You should be fine. If you get the odd one that has a problem, that is what your warranty is for. Sleep well and envision a Spyder that runs well and is a joy to ryde. Pull up the owners manual online and read through it. It will help occupy the time while you wait for delivery and have you better prepared as a new owner.

:agree:
I have over 10,000 miles on my SM5 with only the most common problems, brake squeal, parking brake sticking and exhaust gasket worn out. The dealer has fixed all of those with new or upgraded parts or processes from BRP. I'm guessing that your new SE5 won't have those issues as they seem to be acknowleged and addressed by BRP at this time.

Only had mine since last Saturday afternoon, out one day for rain, so only have 500 miles (my dealer told me to do break in until about 1500) but no real problems. The manual reminds you not to turn it off in "R" and I did that once and got an "E" and no start. Removed the key, shifted into 1st and had no problem getting it to start. Otherwise, I'm just lovin' it more all the time. (Getting up earlier to get "chores" done so I can ride the rest of the day:2thumbs:. Waiting for the new gaskets to come in so can get the new Micron installed.
P.S. Thought it was worth the time to watch the owner DVD that came with it as well as read the manual.

i know what you are talking about. my husband bought it for me and i take it every where i can. is corbin the only dealer for after market things for the spider?
