• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Still trying to get comfortable

Turning

All:

If it helps, I have a new 2012 RT SE5 Audio and Convenience with no mods at the moment.

When turning left(example) take your right knee and put it into the right side of your seat. Put your left foot firmly on the left foot peg and lean into your turn. When turning right do just the opposite. I read this on Spyderlovers and tried it and it works GREAT. Have 2011 RTS SE5 with AC package. Hope this helps.:sour::yes:

Thanks for all of the great feedback!!!

I have been bitten by the :spyder2:. It has been a blast to ride and I'm sure I will get more comfortable with more seat time. I have only logged 170 miles thus far.

170 miles?

Get out there and ryde! 19000 miles on mine since April 2012 , Co, Mo, NC, and every day to work and back! 2012 RT A&C just like yours!

Each mile will bring more comfort and familiarity...

Please keep us posted as to how your learning process goes... Good Luck, and Have Fun! :2thumbs:

new to the forum, new Spyder owner - 2013 RT Limited... just took delivery last Sat. 6/29... can 110% relate to what I assume most people call "the wobble" at interstate speeds. Logged about 200 miles over the weekend. I would describe "the wobble" more like a "squirming" around, almost like the rear end is fish-tailing type of sensation. About 5 miles from the dealership, seriously considered turning around and going back - but toughed it out. I had a 42 mile jaunt home from the dealer, most of it on the interstate. So... No, I would not recommend any new Spydy owner head out on the interstate for their first ride - no matter how many miles you've logged on a 2-wheeled cycle. I am a veteran 2-wheel rider, but this is a whole new ball game. At this point, I would definitely say the Spyder is harder to ride than any motorcycle I've ever ridden - this was totally unexpected. I in fact, expected exactly the opposite! My only Spyder exposure before taking delivery was on a friend of a friends 2011 RT Limited, which I rode about 5 miles..but never over 50-55 mph. Jump up to 70 mph on the interstate - whole new "experience".

For the Sunday ride, had a passenger (the wife), so just bumped the rear suspension up a notch due to this fact (this was before I read about running on full firm on this thread) and did seem to have significantly less "shiftiness in the hind end"! More seat time for sure is needed before getting carried away with "fixing" what I would say are design flaws that seem to be pretty common complaints by most owners. But next ride on the interstate, rear ACS will be at full firm setting to see what affect that has.

I see no way to adjust the preload on the front springs/shock of my 2013 RT Limited - and no mention of it in my manual. Does the 2013 RT Limited have adjustable springs/shocks on the front? Kindly enlighten me if there is a way to "firm'em" up a bit. I'm obviously just beginning to fully understand the handling dynamics of this beast, but at first take, it seems to me that the first inch or two of compliance in the front suspension is too soft/too compliant, etc. after that first couple inches of travel it seems to firm up rather abruptly.. in some corners I have noticed it at first kind of falls over like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and then "wham" it catches and kind of over steers at that point and shoots you back into the inside of your turn... pretty unnerving actually to a noob like me!

ITS KNOWN AS THE SPYDER BALLET

Had mine since 5/15/13 RT limted 1350 miles on it and wonder why when I get on a 2012 of my friend it has none of the ills. I have new ball joints ,and a new alignment (which helped) and a great dealer. However I find it diffacult to believe that this "BALLET" that the spyder does was not their orignal intention, but some thing needs to be done IT IS NOT NORMAL! Working with BRP and hope to find an answer soon.

I read about the ball joint issue on some 2013's. But read it was a Tech Srvc Bulletin and not a recall and is supposedly limited to certain VIN's and was corrected in Production in mid April. What is the production date on yours? Not sure where to find this info on the spyder... under my seat there is a sticker that has some date/time on it. Look like it says "Date imprimU: 2013-05-03" followed by a time stamp. "Imported" maybe? Does your friends 2012 have the factory stock shocks, stabilizer bar, etc.?

I took my 2013 RT LTD out the other day just to do emergency stopping. Those bigger brakes and ABS do a wonderful job in stopping in a straight line. BRP and Brembo got that part right.
