• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Steering wobble

When I get above 60 MPH's the hanlde bars wobble back and forth, I suspected alienment or balance issues of front end,:dontknow: I bought a shop manual the day I got my SPYDER and read it like a good novle, I've been a technician all my life, 40yrs and can smell S... from tech's as I have 22 working for me now, When bike was looked at for its 600 Mi. service they said the found no evidence or could not duplcate, I asked to see the lazar leval and alignment bar, none was produced.:banghead: How can a job be done with out the propper tools?

I totally under stand we all (riders and dealers) have a learning curve to go through, But nothing will damage the reputation of a product and those who sell them like a bummed out customer and the internet. We all need to just be honest with one another. Communication is a must!:chat:

I get a "wobble" feel if I'm holding onto the grip bars too tightly. I relax my strangle hold and the wobble disappears. I had read about this on this forum from other members and it sure is true for me as well. I'm no tech person and cannot explain the dynamics, but when I relax all gets well.

I have felt the steering "wobble" left and right on the demo run. When I asked the dealer, he said it was two fold. 1st, my gripping to tightly, and second, the wheels being a more narrow width (track) trying to climb up the ruts created by many trucks on the asphalt. Don't know if this applies, but when I took it out a second time and both loosened my grip, and rode closer to the edge, the wobble I experienced went completely away. As we say around here...for what is worth!

I can vouch for climbing the ruts.

The Spyder is probably no worse than any other vehicle with radial tires. It is light and responsive, though, so rut following is quite noticeable. Same goes for bumps. The tendency of the rider in those conditions is to respond with slight, sometimes subconscious, steering pressure. The result is a squirmy, or even wobbly, feel. Relax and give the Arachnid its head. Much like a horse, it will go where it is pointed, so make an effort not to overcontrol it. Worked for me.
