• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Had steering recall performed 8/7/09 seemed to perform better.Yesterday 10/4/09 riding at hwy speed 70/80 entering a left hand curve I felt handelbar resistance then sudden lurch to left. This happened twice, scar'y.Did'nt do it at lower speeds. Had I not have a good grip at the time I might have lost control. Anybody else experance same?

SM or SE Spyder?

Could be the GPS sensor----- or an electrical short---- or a fuse or relay coming loose. Or it could be your DPS going bad--- better get her into the dealer. I've felt the same thing you had happen---- but not since the various updates were done.

when i picked up the spyder from the dealer, after the recal, i took it out on the freeway.every thing was o.k til i hit 80 km/hr.the handlebar moved violently left-right, left-right it was very frightend.i returned to the dealer and they called me after a few day's that it was ready.bud the problem was stil there.a new power steering unit has been put in and it is o.k.the steering feels lighter than it ever did.i hope this will help you and they fix yuor spyder soon.

greetings from down under Henk

I had a similar problem, but mine was right hand turns shifting lanes on the interstate. My problem was a bad relay. I replaced the relay and put the steering relay in the headlight slot to check it...guess what no headlights. I've had no more problems since I changed out the relay.

When I had a bad DPS, my steering assist worked on and off. To me, that sounds like what is happening with your Spyder right now. One minute you have to muscle the handlebars to turn, the next minute the steering assist works and the bars turn easily.

Before any of the updates, I had a similar problem and they replaced the Gear Position Sensor and the problem was gone. They did this under warranty. AtaDude is one of the first ones here to have brought this to light. Have them replace or check that as well.

I have had the problem you describe three times and I am waiting for it to happen again. It is very unpredictable and sometimes goes long periods between events. I have had the steering recall, two DPS, one GPS and one ground wire tightened. After the recall the steering would go out and stay out which is better than the original situation. Then it would come back on and stay on. I can live with this.

Good luck with that. It will get your attention.

I had never felt anything like it until after the 1st update. Was down in TN and it happened twice - not at high speeds and thank God not on the highway going 80+. but both times it was when I was going around 40 mph, slow, right hand curve. It wanted to go right all by itself both times and I had to pull it back straight and it felt like it "clicked" when I got the handlebar centered straight to get out of the curve.

Had the 2nd update done at the BBQ and been fine since. So I wonder when or if it will happen again. Hopefully not on a highway going way too fast. I wonder if that happened to the lady in Australia - and she got hurt cuz of that if that is the case.
