• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Steering gremlins have returned

So what exactly does the steering feel like after removing the two fuses? Does this disengage the servomotor or whatever it is we're using? How about at low speeds when the power steering is supposed to be employed %100? I have never had any problems to date but a couple of my friends have and I don't believe they removed any fuses prior to going to the dealer.

My local mechanic looked at mine more today and still gets "change DPS" from the Buds. He talked with BRP techs and they are sending another DPS unit to try. Talked to Carlos today and basically told him I will give them 2 more tries, which counting the original DPS will be 4 units to get it right and then i will proceed with my only recourse. With 2 witnesses and video to back up my failing DPS issues and wandering Spyder, I will have no problem getting the result I am seeking. I still do not have a good feeling about the whole DPS change-out but i will give them a fair chance at correcting the problem. One thing I did hear today was if I have a problem after the next DPS, BRP will be sending a tech down to Fl to look at my Spyder. I have my fingers crossed

Good luck. Hoping you see good results. Feel free to keep us updated.

thanks.

Sure change the DPS and hope that the problem doesn't return ...at least until the POS is out of warranty. My problem occurred in the first few hundred miles, others have not had problems until thousands of miles. What's to say that the "fix" that might work today, will fail when least expected many miles down the road? Changing the DPS units IS NOT THE ANSWER !:helpsmilie:

More then likely it isn't the answer, but the bottom line is they don't know what is causing the issue. They are trying to figure it out but more then likely it is a compatability issue between hardware and software. Not every spyder suffers from it which makes it even more difficult to repair. Obviously this is their problem and not ours to correct, but until it is fixed it is our problem. At this point in time you have two choices hope they fix it and all is well, or park the spyder and take a class action suit against BRP. All you will need is Dave01's video and BRP will be buying your spyders back or at least put a fire under their ass to get someone to fix it correctly once and for all.

I for one, would be very interested in seeing this video, as I think it would help provide a better understanding and visual representation of the steering issues that has been seen.

Got a call from my dealer today and my Spyder is supposed to be fixed!!!! I may get Doc to take it out for a good ride to test it out since I am stuck at work.

Guinea pigs are good in situations like this. Remember the chimps they sent into space? :joke: Seriously, I hope your problems are banished forever.

Dave, I hope things are absolutely fixed this time around.
Good luck with the test rides and thereafter!

Cheers.
