• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Starting w/out the "MODE" button?

The mode button to the left in front of grip, press it, then start button. No need to push mode button in front above cluster....

Be glad that is all it is. BRP changed the seadoo skis so you have to push the start button, then install the lanyard, then push the start button again to start. Also, don't do it quick or it won't work and you will have to start over! Then if you want to ride it normal and not be stuck in Econ mode you have to push the Econ/sport button twice....haha...wtf!?
It's really stupid....

As one other has said, look at it as a free anti-theft device. Most spur of the moment thieves would not hang around to try and figure out why it wont start, so that's one for our side.

You're supposed to hit M for mode, then turn around three times, click your heels together twice and run the gremlin bell once to ensure a limp mode free ride.

The school bus I drove had a start up routine. Everything on the dash would wink, blink and so a couple seconds, then you could start it. The gauges like the spedometer would go all the way over and back twice. Scare you the first time. At least Nanny warns you.

When I get someone that wants to "try out" the :spyder2:, I usually watch and see how well they follow instructions. Out of 5, maybe one looks for the button before asking. Then I would get another one who pulls the safety card and reads it. Had another one ask if this like the "any key button"nojoke

NSA has connection via satellite to all the nanny functions of all the Spyders sold thus far and from what I read they have a special division headed up by some dude called SpyderMan.

Carl

But seriously, I thought there was some guy early on in the days of the Spyder that made a remote start function that did bypass/ignore the mode switch.

Hmm, maybe NSA abducted him.
