• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Starting issue

I have a 2013 RT-S. It sounds like it wants to start but does not quite roll over. Radio, lights , dash all come on. It does not have the click, click sound of a dead battery but I had it checked anyway and it tested fine. Do the wise members of SL have any suggestions for me?

Little checking..

While back we saw some starter motors have the magnets come loose. If your battery tested good under load, not just voltage, and there is no clicking you may have a solenoid or starter problem...:dontknow:

How was the battery checked? By who? What where the results? Pass/fail is not good enough here. At what current draw, for how long, what was minimum voltage?

By your description the battery may be dead. It could be bad. It may not be the battery at all but a loose connection.

This. Also hooking it up to a charger for a few hours can tell you a LOT.
If it springs to life after that, either the battery is just shot or the charging system has gone bad ......or both.
But most likely just the battery.

Almost hate to mention: that those symptoms can also be caused by a locked up engine, sometimes due to liquid fuel in a cylinder or coolant.
Hoping that is NOT your problem.

Try jumping it off your car, no need to start it, if it starts you ether have a dead/ bad battery or bad connection.

Thanks for everyone's insight. The battery was tested at Batteries Plus. The test lasted all of 45 seconds. I keep it on a tender to keep the charge up.

I'll start with trying to jump start it. That will tell me a lot.
