There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Well, until our new member mentioned it, I'd never heard about the "Stallion".

Looks more like a beefed up scooter than a real trike, but it's priced less than the new RT S or LTD, and $7 grand under the Hardly TriGlide.

Anyone actually seen one? Would your local Ford dealer handle the service….

Yup--- saw a few of them at a bike show a few years ago. Might as well buy a convertible car..............

Kinda hard to get my head around it … Really hits me as a scooter -

I took the trike safety class, and they are a handful if not properly ridden - this might be the V-tailed Bonanza of the bike world, very tempting to non-riders.

I sudder to think about the insurance costs…. :dontknow:

There are three of them thar Stallions here in our town. One guy rides his to bike nite and told me when they first came out they were about $34,000 w/ A/C. Powered by the focus motor, (ie the 2000cc Pinto). Another guy said he bought it to keep till it is a classic and worth more. I told him it will be a classic when the Pinto is. Now A/C is an addon so the price went down. I was told $29,000. Wow. $5,000 for A/C. Just a car missing a front wheel. BTW, the :spyder2: blows it away.

There were several at the Texas Trike Reunion this past Thurs-Sat. The owners said they liked them. They are built by Motor Trike in Troup, TX. I heard that Ford may not build this four cyl. anymore...a rumor perhaps.

I saw two Stallions at the Super 8 in Kerrville where I spent Friday night. Never saw who was riding (driving?) either one. They look nice and I'm sure they run well with that Ford 2300cc engine. But I much prefer my Spyder RT. They look like they would fill up with water if you got caught in the rain. I gues they have drain holes.

By the way, George, I looked for you on the road on Friday and Saturday but never saw you. We didn't come for the Trike Reunion but my wife and I were riding with a few BMW riders and one other Spyder rider from San Angelo. Could not have missed the Big Red 1 but I guess we just weren't on the same road at the same time.

Oh-- it's no scooter---- they are pretty darn big-- with huge rear tires--- and Air Conditioning!

The owners I spoke to loved them-- of course---- just not my cup of tea-- the wheels are on backwards for starters-----:D

They have been around for 3 or 4 years. The company had an agreement with Ford that they would handle all service & warranty work on the engine. I just saw an article in Wing World that they were going to stop production of the Stallion for now as Ford ceased production of the engine they were using and they were not sure they would be able to find a suitable replacement motor at a reasonable cost. :dontknow:

Drove one at Americade last year, pretty nifty although I found it awkward to get into . mind you now that we are paying over 5 bucks a gallon the 38 MPG sound good.

saw a couple at the trike reunion... looks kinda neat.. some people think the spyder looks strange... not my cup of tea to sit in with a steering wheel.. just isn't right for some reason.. Big red 1 didn't make an appearance... however there was a bright orange reverse spyder there.. hey George...

I rode my Gold Wing Motor Trike to the reunion Wed. afternoon and needed to go home Friday (35 miles from Kerrville), but rode BR1 to the picnic Sat. afternoon. It was the first closeup of a RT for many of the trikers. All seemed impressed with BR1 and the folks really liked the trunk space and the idea of a matching trailer. (I don't have one, but told them about it)

I rode my Wing as I needed good CB comm with the group that I led to Luckenbach and up to Llano for BBQ. My Spyder CB is a disappointment and not near the Clarion unit in my Wing. I have reasonable transmit, but poor receive...I see here others have different problems.

I feel BRP needs to rethink their CB...perhaps go to Clarion for a better unit....Clarion has been building CBs for Honda for years and is a fine unit. There is NO excuse for a poor CB!

I know it's tough to say anything bad about a unique vehicle-- after all, just hearing what some hostile two-wheeler riders say about Spyders makes me naturally reluctant to criticize anyone for their choice of a ride. If the Stallion owners are happy with what they have, then more power to them!

That said... I just don't get this thing at all. Three wheels have advantages over a motorcycle, but I don't see them having advantages over a car. There are good and valid reasons to turn a bike into a trike, but the more you turn a trike into a car, the less point there is in having a trike. Just the opposite, in fact-- you're now driving a car missing a wheel!

Motorcycle-like trikes like the Spyder keep as much of the open-air riding joy of a motorcycle as possible-- and if there's ever a leaning Spyder model available, it'll capture *even more* of that particular joy-- while having the greater stability and ease of use afforded by the three wheels.

The car-like trikes, however, make me shake my head and wonder why the owner didn't just buy a Miata. :dontknow:

I test rode one; way more fun than a Miata but I can't testify to the long-term 'fun' of ownership. Still; it was fun to hop in/on one.
