I know there are enough people on this web site that have practically had their spyder down to the frame. My question is this. How can I get enough weight off this thing to pop a wheelie? Has anyone had the front tires off the ground? Please no posts saying "that would be cool" or "why would you want to do that?" Real theory only. Thanks

It just ain't gonna happen... Too long of a wheelbase... not enough traction or motor... Forget about what Nanny might think about it! :gaah:
One other small point; IF you were to loft the front wheel and didn't hold the bike perfectly upright; what you do think would happen when it finally touched down? :yikes:

Way too weight biased in the front... and there is no amount of weight saving that will change that.

You would need to have a lot more power, and a lot more traction/rubber in the rear -maybe with a shorter wheel base to boot.

Remove engine......

If you're serious about wanting to do it... I think you'd be better off adding a small electric/hydraulic activated 'middle front wheel' that can lift the front of the frame off the ground on command...... that would be kinda cool and hidden enough to make most raise an eyebrow.....

If the stunt can be achieved, once the front is up, you need to be careful about the tipping point. With that heavy front end, I can see it coming up over the top and the :spyder2: landing upside down.

Has anyone actually measured the weight distribution of a Spyder? I don't think it's as "front heavy" as you might think. No worse than a 690 lb V-Rod. 74 ft lbs of torque and 115hp. The wheelbase is almost the same as well. However it won't do a wheelie stock either.

Someone should put it on some racing scales to see what the "corner" weights are standing still before assuming it's front heavy. If it were front heavy it would corner funny... err. I guess it does kinda

I do agree it would require more torque, probably by changing gearing, which would make 1st gear useless for anything but getting the front off the ground.

Once it's up, I have no idea what would happen. Not sure how easy a Spyder is to balance.

Yeah ok, I tried to have a serious discussion but... how much are you looking to spend? I know someone who will Make it happen for the right number of zero's.
