There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ST S Seat

SO Im planning on trading up from my 2009 RS to a new 2014 ST-S and was curious what you ST owners thoughts were on the stock seat. I have a comfort seat on my rs which I could take off and put on the st if I choose but when I test rode one a year ago I remember thinking the seat was pretty comfortable so what's your thoughts. Thanks

St seat

I like My st seat better than, the stock seat, and the brp comfort seat. Just my 2 cents.

I think the seat on the ST is very comfortable and I never needed a butt break. My issue was that it has that little tilt forward which made it very uncomfortable for my shoulders. True it also has to do with the handle bars but I got a comfort seat for my ST and it did help correct that little tilt in the seat, but it didn't correct the forward tilt enough for me so I do have RT handle bars ordered so my position issues should be taken care of. But as I mentioned for me the seat itself was very comfortable.

I've tried several different seats on my RS and have gone back to the ST seat every time. It is a good seat.

I traveled across country on my stock seat but would have turned around by St Louis had I not had an AirHawk cushion. I'm in the last few days wait for my custom Russel Day Long seat!! For me, I got too much butt burn for a long comfortable ride on the stock seat. But I'm 6'4" and 250 lbs so I imagine if you're smaller its proportionally more comfortable!

ST seat

My thoughts - I kept the RS comfort seat to put on the ST limited - turns out I took it back off and put the stock ST seat on - it seems to have gel in it (though I could be wrong) and I found it seated me a little lower than the comfort seat, which is good for a short-ish person. Sold the comfort seat, just not for me on the ST - though I loved it on the RS...

If you still have the stock seat for the RS, I would put it on to sell the RS and keep the comfort seat. This way you can switch them out, when you get the bike, to see which one is best for you. We put my wife's comfort seat on her STL and she loves it. It looks better as well.

Opinion of '13 ST-L seat

Took my wife and I about 6 months to figure out that the ST seat just didn't provide support for anything longer than a one hour ride. Monkey butt big time. Rather than start another mortgage, we purchased Air Hawks and have never looked back. And my wife and I are both about 5'8 and 150lb ers. I have nothing against buying an aftermarket seat. I have done so on several past motorcycles. But this is a much more economical solution if you don't mind the inconvenience of putting the cushion away. Many riders like the R model. Just sayiin'.....

I liked the stock STS seat around town but on multi-hour rides I found it wasn't comfortable. I switched to the comfort seat and found it much more to my liking.

It really depends on your rear end and leg/foot position on the ST.

There was a great thread about Stock Vs. Ultimate Vs. Comfort but my 4 minute search time limit to find it has expired.
