I have over 8,000 riding miles on our 2014 RTS, but we're considering an ST for a 2nd family Spyder. I have a 2014 ST Limited on a demo ride and enjoy many facets of the machine. It's perky, energetic, and different than our RTS. It's also not as smooth on rough roads, harder to hold constant speeds (I think due to higher RPM's & Operator error), and a lot more windy.
So a few Spyder friends have chimed in that for the long distance riding that they'd prefer the RTS 1330 for better gas mileage and storage. Here are a couple of my questions...Does anyone have experience with a different windshield to keep more wind off the driver? The stock windshield is only 19 inches tall and very narrow. I felt a lot of wind...which is nice when it's over 80 degrees, but makes for a chilly ride below 60. Any real world experience with Calsci or F4 is appreciated. Lastly, are there any RT 1330 riders that have moved to the 998 engine? It's a totally different ride, but that also intrigues me.
