• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just got my new Garmin GPS out of the box for the first time and I'm having some problems, first off the screen reads "System Software Missing"...I followed the directions and hooked the device up to my desktop, downloaded all the required plug-ins and Garmin software but my computer can't find the device, even tried all the Garmin forums with no luck, any suggestions before I return it to the dealership?

I had the same "can't find the device". Make sure you plug in your garmin from the back plug that is located on the unit itself. Remove the battery door and it is located there. I initially attempted to plug in from the extra mount that comes in the Garmn box -no go there. Hope this helps out.

Thanks guys, I did remove the battery door and had the device plugged in correctly, I think the dealer should have set this up before taking delivery, I'll be taking it back to the dealership on Thursday this week, no luck getting the GPS working or even getting my computer to recognize it without System Software on the device.

I also agree that Garmin support is quite good. Got my Spyder brand new and the GPS was locked away in the saddle bag, and had the joy of setting it up myself, no problems. I was thankful for that. I am sure Garmin will make it right.

Not sure you should do this since its a dealer problem but there is a tiny hole that you can stick a pin into that is supposed to reset the device. Maybe let the dealer do it?

Yep, I have no intention of handeling this myself, it's a brand new bike and the GPS was included with the Limited, I'm returning it to the dealership and they can get it fixed
